Diesel F/W 2023.24 Milan

The few tailored pieces direction is interesting the rest feels like we've seen it 27 times. Sure they have a nice R&D division with a cool technical take on denim but nothing looks innovative anymore.

He needs to stop throwing as many things against the wall to see what sticks and demure a little the sex atmosphere because after the last shows it is just boring atm.

Anyway, he is very talented (splendid Antwerp graduate collection), great JPG show and always delivers stunning pieces with Y/Project. By refocusing on fashion and less on entertainment industry/celebrity friends/shiny tiktoks he can step it up.

In truth, his collections for Y/Project are more niche and purist in nature. Most of the "entertainment industry/celebrity friends/shiny tiktok" image is generally kept for Diesel, since it's always been that sort of brand to be dependant on that trendy mainstream audience.

Just feels the exact same as last season really (shoe problems and painted skin included). It's there, it exists and it has it's place and I get why it's so popular at the moment. Much prefer his Y/Project but honestly that's a given.

Although funnily enough, I met someone who was wearing one of the hardware branded lurex ribbed dresses and we talked so I asked how much it cost. She didn't buy it, just rented/borrowed. She said it was too expensive for what it was worth plus she'd just wear it once and that's it. Even fans of it don't see the longevity in this and that's a little concerning.
