Diesel shuts down Style Lab

don't thinkso...

the hoodie I have from them is ace...

wasn't the cheapest at £165 from a sportswear label either...

Actually, Diesel Style lab is not being produced anymore. Diesel has learned that it's style lab customers are the same customers who buy Diesel.

With this in mind starting this Fall the price point and designs will be closer to what you would expect from Style Lab. I don't believe everything will increase, but I know they have some more fashion pieces for the line now. Some eaxmples of the more fashiony are a long denim dress which was cut like an evening dress (long with a split in the front), which made me think of Galiano for some reason. There were a lot of construction heavy blazers for men too.

I learned this after speaking to one of the main managers at the Diesel Union Square store durring a job interview. I also got to see some pictures of the collection.

so, why is a shop near me carrying their new line this coming season...

i'll be upset if they have...they had some really cool things...

I think there might be some confusion here?

I know for a fact that stores have diesel style lab in, right now...

and I know for a fact, that they will be carrything them again, next season...

is it not just the actual stores that were closing...

however, it would explain why they no longer have a website..

I'm not in an objective position cause the positioning of Diesel worldwide has been very different and that annoyed me. In some parts of Europe it's just another jeans brand, popular but not 'top of the range', then in the USA they are considered very avant garde and premium, in Italy they are very common of course. Still, Stylelab had its highlights but didn't catch the general public's attention... I think the overall quality was not that special either. With Margiela in the house I think they are expanding this rather than Stylelab.

It reminds me another brand - E-Play which runs by REPLAY as a high-end product line.
I love their works soooo much~~ what a pity!! it seems the menswear line has been stopped since 2003..(unconfirmed) :(

Like StyleLAB too. they did a very good job imo. Don't know why stopped...

I don't wear jeans... partly because EVERYONE wears jeans, and they all look the same to me..

No problem.. I should've mentioned the obligatory sarcastic statement that "this is my contribution to this interesting thread."

I was just wondering what the fixation on jeans is, out loud, trying to see if there were more people with the same questions…*but afraid to ponder them out loud... oh well... :x

oh, kuran don't be afraid please keep contributing !! I don't wear jeans either.. wait, yes I do :p haha, i am in need of some new ones.. Look like they won't be diesel style labs (as if they would have been anyway )

sorry, I didn't want the thread going off on a tangent about the fixation of jeanswear (in general)...:S

I'm one of the few actually interested in the thread...hense why I'm posting here...?

the only thing I liked about stylelab was there sometimes interestingly abstract ad campaigns...

Don't be ashamed. You aren't the only one with these feelings. I postively hate wearing jeans.

I'd like to know if shut down of Diesel Style Lab was something just in the plan of the italian brand. As someone here may know, the role of 1st-class "limited edition" brand may be to carry on brand image more than lead to sales turnover.
Don't know if this could be the case...in this case the shut down may mean something like "mission accomplished"...and the decision of Diesel headquarter is, consequently, to address budget toward a different business unit.
Waiting to hear your opinion,
Bye
Sebastiano

maybe they are just going to keep style lab in all diesel stores, as a special section?

I'm sure that could well be the case...

however, there was only one store (MyIcon) in the whole of the north of england (if you class manchester as the north) who had stylelab for sale...

as far as I know, they have now scrapped the collection...and now Sarah Coggles of York have taken stylelab on...so that is why I'm confused to hear they have stopped production?
