Review by Suzy Menkes:
Brit was there.
Is Britney Spears about to change her image again? Long black gothic hair, perhaps, with a bird-of-prey tattoo rising over the shoulder, a lattice of vivid-colored jersey woven into the bodice and toe thongs cut into squishy ankle boots? The pop star whose fashion taste often seems to echo her famous "Oops! I did it again" lyric, could make some smart choices from the Diesel Style Lab, which is the essence of cool.
On shoulder dresses, bloused on the hips, were a smart mix of 1980's underground with modernity. Instead of relying on hip hop culture, as do so many so-called "urban" brands, Diesel showed loose denims and jersey dresses printed with subversive scribble drawings with an Asiatic perfume. And surely it was with tongue-in-cheek that Diesel paraded in front of the gum-chewing pop star a T-shirt emblazoned with the message: "Look - no style."
Brit was there.
