Note : Runway clothing in this poll applies to everything VERY expensive that's from a quite "recognized" designer.

I have a pair of Dolce & Gabbana trainer/shoes from the runway and a Helmut Lang combat vest. All second hand.

Second hand is allowable. But I don't have the budget to buy off the runway... nor would I desire to spend my hard-earned money on it if I did.

do you mean ordering right at the fashion show or just buying it at the boutique? If you meant boutique, I mean most of the pieces you see at a store was shown on the runway. So I guess I do buy a lot of runway stuff. My last 2 "big" runway purchases were a light blazer jacket from dolce & gabbana and armani black label winter coat.

I totally agree with you!

not only do i have runway stuff..i have actual samples that have been ON the runway puchased at sample sales...

^_^

but i also have tons of jcrew and zara ...

the runway stuff is often too over-the-top for my liking... i don't like my clothes to scream 'designer'...even if they are... i just buy what i like and what looks good on me... :P :flower:

I'd say 75-80% of my clothes are boutique pieces and then mixed with more basic pieces from places like Banana Republic or just plain tees from labels like James Perse, etc. Although I don't know if most of my clothing counts as "runway pieces" in the true meaning of the term, as in the stuff you actually see at the shows, as the pieces I own are mostly basic tailored items from fairly well known designers.

Way too expensive pour moi. Sometimes I see a piece I'm almost dying for, but it's the damn price tag that doesn't allow me to buy it.

I have a few pieces here and there from the runway picked up at sample sales and the what not. A lot of my warddrobe is mix and match.

i'd say 75% of my wardrobe is h&m, zara or secondhand but i save up to buy about and at least three runway pieces every season. it's all about timing and i've picked up some amazing stuff up at the sales with 50% off - then all of a sudden it's not that expensive. or so it feels. :P

I have a few pieces from the shows, but that makes up less than half my wardrobe, at the moment. But within the next couple months, I'd say about half my stuff will be runway. My other stuff is more basic designer clothes that weren't actually on the runway (as far as I know) or basics from places like A/X or whatever.

i have a $600 Michael Kors mock turtleneck sweater... paid $4 at Goodwill, new with tags.

Not runway, but $600 Coach leather jacket... paid $135....

And a Dior suit.... $10 thrift store... it's wonderful...

I would definitely purchase things from the runway if I has the money... that day is in future, though. Right now, I shop in every store imaginable from Salvation Army to Gap to Saks... probably always will, too...

 I wish there were thrift stores like that over here.

Strictly speaking, I'd say half of my clothes comes from the runway. But that is because the designers I favor show wearable clothes on the runway that translate into the stores. Designers like Ann Dem, Helmut Lang, etc. will not put on a show for the sake of a spectacle but will keep the show what it essentially is - a preview of the clothes you'll see in stores.

If Helmut Lang S/S 05 runway show was a good representation of what we'll see in stores then I'm disappointed :ninja:

Well, if by runway, you mean "hallway between my sewing room and bedroom," then I wear runway clothes every day, darnit!

If you mean runway like the one Gisele, Kate, Mariacarla, et. al. sashay down, then I don't wear any runway clothing whatsoever.

:P

If I'm thinking along those lines, I kinda sorta have something...

i have quite a few betsey johnson sample dresses and bracelets that were actually used in shows (back in the day when the outlet had good stuff...) , umm i think thats it for high priced items... most of my wardrobe is eclectic designer/ homemade/vintage wear. and i rarely if ever pay full price for anything
