Dooney & Bourke

I'm not a fan of the "it" bags, really, but some of their plain bags are Ok. Although, in my opinion bags like Nine West and Fossil are made just as well or better than some of the more expensive ones. I guess it just depends.

i never said not getting 3000 dollar bags made u uncool

i just said dooney&bourke did

I wouldn't get a db bag if my life depended on it. It bag or not.

I went to Goodwill today to drop off some old stuff and saw three girls walking out all wearing the DB bag.

:P

I just got a pumpkin and brown leather DB... it's because I couldn't find a purse to match an outfit I have... I was at the mall at saw the pumpkin colour- and liked it. DB's and Patagonia fleeces are getting big here, so I don't know how long I'll be carrying it! :innocent:

I purchased the ID Card Coin Purse & must say I love it! I would personally never get one of the bags only because it's $135 purely wasted on a purse that feels and smells horribly. I love the fact that I can use the coin purse as a wallet or a little purse for me to carry around whenever.

The actual bags aren't leather either.. they're a processed cotton in which raincoats are made out of

I like that little change purse- it's cute. I don't mind logoed wallets so much but I find bags are a bit much.

The coin purse is way cute, maybe I'll get that instead of the bags.
I do love the bags though.

Ok, no offense, but didn't DOONEY go out of style like almost ten years ago?
I mean I remember when everyone had one. And if you did, you were cool.
I think it's cool how they are trying to re-invent themselves and try to attract the younger crowd, but what kind of good designer in their right mind, that has obviously been in the buisness a long time, would make LOUIE VUITTON wannabes? And the leather is like ridiculous. EWW! Weren't they made for old people anyway?

And by the way, what's up with the ugly beige color?? Who buy beige purses?
HAHAHA.

I agree!

PS: Dooney is not for old people. It's for suburban, midwestern, slightly "higher end (oooh a $200 bag)" housewives who buy beige purses. Believe me, I know a lot.
what's wrong with a beige purse?

What do you guys think about Dooney & Bourke's "rainbow" collection?
First I thought it was some very bad LV copies...I don't like them..

I don't like them very much either...they just strike me as being...hmm...tacky-looking, I guess? I just don't like them. A Dooney & Bourke handbag without the monogram on it, well, that's okay by me. Their logo makes it look cheap or something. :P

 I would hope such a comment like that wouldn't offend anyone...i personally found it a bit...just not the nicest of things to say... somehow beige DB purse owners are equivalent to your idea of or version of what should be considered shameful living pattern/social status ?

I don't know, found it disrespectful...but everyone is entitled to their own opinion :innocent:

hey even though some of you guyz dont like the "It bag" i think its totally cute and the reason why its aimed for younger teens(like myself) is because the younger generation of teens buy everyting expensive and name brand and Dooney and Bourke now that lots of younger teens will buy this bag because there willing to dish out the money for it! and yes even though it looks like a remake of Louis Vuitton people will like it better because u can actually afford since its a lot cheaper! ;)
I agree! I heard Mischa Barton was supporting/promoting these bags. I think the smaller and slimmer bag is more cute than the bigger one. They're quite a replica of LV, but still VERY stylish! :P
Is that true? About Mischa Barton?

I am a recent D&B fanatic of sorts and I LOVE the "It" bag collection. I got the white buckel satchel it bag for valentines day and it is adorable! I have many types of designer purses and never buy indirect because there are too many frauds out there. I was a bit surprised to see that everyone was comparing the it bags to the Vuitton Murakami line. I am the owner of the black pouchette murkami bag which I purchased at the Louis Vuitton site and I have to say that I actually enjoy my D&B It bag more. It's softer looking and more attractive generally speaking....not to mention half the price of the LV. I dont buy so much for the name brand as much as for the style and I dont see the It bags as knock-offs at all. Dooney & Bourke are rolling with the trends and times like any reputable company would by appealing to the younger generation. What's the matter with that? I just wanted to add my opinion on the bags. They are completely different...even the colors used are different. Oh well...just the perspective of someone owning both collections. B)

I have an LV "Partition", but to be honest, I am afraid of using it because I'm worried I'll mess it up. I am 30, and am seriously looking for a new "big" bag. I refuse to fork down a bunch of $ for another LV bag that I'll be afraid of getting dirty, etc. Anyhow, I saw these IT bags at the mall, and honestly, I wouldn't mind purchasing the black version and using it to death (maybe even put my LV partition inside it). I spotted them after several ladies my age looked at them and one bought the pink one! That definitely caught my eye. Anyhow, I have looked online at the other DB bags, and to me, they are too conservative and boring. The regular DB bags with the logo; I would be so afraid of spilling something on them and staining the fabric! Same with the Coach line.. very.. blah. I am sure that they are excellent bags, but they just seem too "old" for me. Are there any people here over 30 who like the IT bag?

The DB "It" just strikes me as a copy of a lot of things and places. Multicolored logos from you-know-where, heart locket like a luella, hardware (for those that have it) like Marc Jacobs, etc, etc. I is definately for the "younger crowd" but as a member of the "younger crowd" I can say I don't like them. Where I go to school (private school) everyone and their goldfish has one. Give me a good quality no name brand that's uniquely mine anyday.

those dam bags are everywhere here..and im hate them..except they have the cutest zipper, its multicolored..they just came out with pink and purple

heres a pic of one of the new ones..its the nastiest bad ever

however i do kinda like the it bag with alto trim..i wonder why ive never seen anyone with it..its much better than the others

heres a pic of the one i would get
