What is so wrong with wanting to be a mother? Most women want to be a mother. Most men want to be a father too.

The fact that you say the show is discrimination against women has everything to do with your close-minded view of the world and no one else's. It is you who discriminate against women by saying they are morons for blowing kisses.

I for one thought Doutzen was lovely. <-- Look! Doutzen content!

Does it really matter that I picked that comment? Look at what else she said. She called them morons, sad, called the show discrimination against women, she'd be embarrassed to be in the show. So much negativity!

#14253 - agreed 110%! this is why so many of the model threads are boring to read! no offense to anyone, but so very few on tFS have enough backbone to clearly and honestly state their opinions; it gets soo bad to the point that all of the posts sound exactly the same!

i agree with most of what others have said about the behavior at VSFS 2008. and of course though it isn't meant to be "classy" and more so means of entertainment, i still think the show could be done a lot differently to make it enjoyable for model-lovers and those who are there just to enjoy the glitz and glamour.

The girls are given no opportunities to demonstrate their intelligence, if any. The producers are looking for sound bites, not eloquent statements. I think the girls know that and just give cliche answers to be safe and get their air time. Considering how ambitious and solid you have to be to be a successful model, I doubt the girls really are just wallflowers irl.
Also, I do agree the direction the show has taken is pretty appalling. I remember the days of Eugenia Volodina or Gisele walking down the runway looking like unreachable goddesses and owning every inch of it, exuding confidence and power. Now we have little girls having an Ann Summers slumber party.
But then again, I believe this is what the producers are asking for, the girls just do as they're told. They are employees at the end of the day.

Personally I loved when she did more HF editorials... I miss seeing her in different magazines all the time, now all I see her in are Victoria Secrets advertisements... Don't get me wrong I think some of her pictures are the best in the bunch, but it's just not the same as it used to be.

I never said, that those models are "stupid", I just said that they are acting "stupid", and are put into a "stupid" role. I don't like the idea, that beautiful women are just sooo happy, because they found themselves some riich husbands, to make some beautiful babies now... I don't know if I was able to portray what I am thinking correctely, english is not my mother language and I struggle with it a little bit.
I don't want to insult those girls at all, just the role victoria secrets puts them in.

VS is IN FACT her main priority; that explains why she's signed on as an angel...she's a very intelligent lady, capitalizing on a highly marketable image--this simply means more $$$ than low-paying HF jobs...That's not to say she'll make a complete halt with HF; it's just not ranked as high on the totem pole, whereas VS is...
