AMSTERDAM - Doutzen Kroes vliegt dan wel uitsluitend first class, aan een eigen privéjet heeft het Nederlandse topmodel geen behoefte. "Zou makkelijk zijn hoor, maar ik denk goed na over het milieu", zegt ze vrijdag in De Telegraaf.

"Al die sterren die wel een hybride auto rijden maar er een privévliegtuig op na houden, dat kan toch niet? Ik vlieg gewoon in lijndiensttoestellen."

Mannen hoeven bij de blonde schone dan ook niet aan te komen met een eigen vliegtuig. "Laatst was er een zanger, nee, ik noem geen naam, die indruk op me wilde maken met zijn privéjet", zegt ze. 'Toen ik hem vroeg of hij wist hoe milieuvervuilend dat is, droop hij af."

Victoria's Secret

De 22-jarige Kroes tekende onlangs een 3-jarig contract met het Amerikaanse lingeriemerk Victoria's Secret. "Vanaf komend seizoen ben ik drie jaar lang een van de gezichten van de nieuwe campagne van het merk", legt ze uit. "Naast Gisele Bündchen, Tyra Banks en Heidi Klum."

Topmerken

Vier jaar geleden werd Kroes ontdekt door een Nederlands modellenbureau. Al snel mocht ze campagnes en modeshows doen voor topmerken als Gucci, Calvin Klein, Valentino en Versace.

Donderdagavond nam het model in Amsterdam de Prix de la Mode in ontvangst in de categorie voor beste model.
