Dress Your Man

This looks kinda like my bf, both looks and style-wise...but he'd probably wear a shirt that was a little less flashy though, and shirt untucked!

:buzz: Looks too?

Lucky lucky Caramel !

Thanks Trean

His face does look a LOT like my boyfriend's actually (I was a little stunned when I saw the pic! :woot: )! He's got the same coloring, same face shape, same hair, same beard, same nose...not to mention same build (my bf is probably a WEE BIT shorter though  )and clothes...

 :o  You got your personal Armani guy! :buzz:

I am reviving this topci because my hsuband desperately needs some new clothes, but we have a delimma.

For over a decade, he's habitually worn clothing that is monstrously huge. He says its comfy, and I'll agree that it can be, but folks, to prove a point, I got into one of his shirts with him in it! He wears his clothes too big. On what planet does a man with a 29" waist need a XXL shirt? So I need ideas for more streamlined clothes that wouldn't be at all binding.

The other side of the delimma is that he isn't a very big guy. He's 5'8" and has a very compact, muscular build. He works in a warehouise loading trucks, so for work clothes I'm just going to get him some more tee-shirts, sweatshirts, and jeans from the thrift shop, but he does need something nicer for when we go out. He carries the bulk of his muscle in his legs--he has HUGE calves--he looks like a long-jumper. He's got a great ***, but I don't think I could convince him to wear slim-fit jeans, even if they would get past his calves. He's got nice shoulders and arms, and OMG, a very nice six-pack...ahem. He's got very long black hair, brown eyes, an angular face, but currently sporting a rather rampant beard (I've been reminding him to trim it for over a month!)

So, what we're looking for would be something that would be proprotional and becoming to a shorter man, streamlined but not binding on top, and probably more loose-fit below. Oh, and a moderate price-range is of the essence. However, y'all can post all the Dior you want, and we'll just look for similar shapes and styles at Kohl's and Target.

Of only my partner would get out of track-pants and uggboots in Winter, and boardshort in Summer! He's an artist and works from home but I think he carries the "slobbing around the house" thing a little too far.

I would like to throw out most of his things and take him on a huge shopping spree. I like well cut jeans that fit perfectly in all the right places  :innocent: and lots of black - black turtleneck, black button-down cord shirt, black sleeveless t-shirt etc. I like a rough around the edges James Dean type look. And nothing beats a black dinnersiut. (yum)

Miss New York, thanks for a great topic. :flower:
i like ugg boots on guys. they look very luxurious/comfy casual

I'd also love to see the guy I like in something like this. it's preppy, but casual. a musician could get away with this. ;) I could even get him to actually wear something like this.

My husband is dark so he looks good in light colors. I like the way he usually dresses - since I buy him most of his clothes ;)

OMG i love this line!

Ralph Lauren Purple Label right? i liked it because it was very 1930's inspired. everything from the oxford baggies with exaggerated cuffs to the vented jackets, and double breasted suit with huge lapels.

I wouldn't disregard the thrift stores in your search for non-work clothes, though.

loserunit, will you be my boyfriend so I can dress you? I love male fashion. :ninja:

Express Men is my favorite. I've been known to pick up a few sweaters and button ups there for myself. :innocent:
