Dries Van Noten F/W 2021.22 Paris

what a beautiful collection (minus the long denim skirts - everybody on this Forum knows by now how much I loathe denim on a runway :zorro:)!

I had to click and zoom each picture (I’m on my phone but I’ll make sure to have another look on my laptop too, after - good collections have this effect on me, they always make me come back), to see in detail, but as always, Dries delivered.

it’s not that I don’t appreciate the effort of the presentation but I would’ve much preferred a classic runway - all these designs deserved to be presented as they should be - an elegant strut down the catwalk.

I haven’t watched the video but will give it a go too.
best of Fashion WeekS, so far.

The photography has a Robert Longo vibe, an artist from the 80’s. There is no one who matches my anticipation with delivering the goods more than Dries. The effortless chic his collections have are a welcome departure from the overworked, over hyped and over designed collections season after season.

Fantastic collection, the video is much better to see in detail. colours are just fantastic

I'm not one for these type of presentations. I'm not saying that we need to go back to the fashion circus of 50+ models parading down the runway, as Dries says (although I still need a good stomp to the beat sometimes, not that we've really had that since the Noughties though I guess ), but I find it a little pretentious.

After having gone through the show properly though, I have to say that I love this collection. The only truly good one I've seen this season. Almost everything is beautiful to me, apart from the denim looks - let's please stop that now. The type of clothes I anticipate seeing in editorial, and the kind that could look so luxe IRL. Well done. He almost lost me for a sec there.

The collection was great as was the presentation. I won't lie and say that I don't miss his runway shows, there are a lot of details that I'd like to take a closer look. But again, Dries always stays true to himself and his brand and he always comes up with the best collection and the best coordination of color and patterns.

The colours are divine: love that peach and gold dress. Elegance embodied.

Probably his best collection in a decade or so. He really lost me during his “Iris Apfel” phase...it all started to look so cheap...floral prints, big sunglasses, funky shoes, blah blah blah...very predictable and passé. There’s a lot of nice stuff here and it is much more approachable and timeless looking than most of his recent output. Maybe the Marc Jacobs girl left the team?

But GEEZE LOUISE...why is everything DANCE these days? It really makes my skin crawl.
