Dries Van Noten/marni

alomost as though some of the collection is being made in another place...?
i think this is not the case with marni, they are very proud of having all items manufactured 'in house'

as for the fit, i cant really say, havent tried something on for quite a long time :ninja:

I understand what people mean about the fit, but is it not just that the clothes are designed not to 'fit' in the way that other clothes do and so feel more awkward on the body that more conventionally fitting clothing. I personally find the skirts slightly difficult for this reason. Tried one on recently & just felt uncomfortable in it despite how lovely it looked.

 thats too bad..

now you both make me want to try something from Marni, as soon as possible, i need to check this out :ninja:

Lena - good luck. maybe I was just having a bad day. I bought a Dries Van Noten skirt instead - fitted much better.

i find that i sometimes have the same problem with margiela...just not really coomfortable...awkward and binding...

but it's true...dries is a dream...

wear it already with opaque tights
i wouldnt/couldnt wait if i was in your shoes

Thanks - yes I think I will. I am terrible for 'storing' nice clothes for ages before I start to wear them - must be some deep rooted reason for that... I am forever looking for the perfect shoes or the perfect top. I get too caught up with the whole outfit that I forget to see each item for what it is - a really nice thing...

i have things with the tags still on them ... sometimes i'll wait a whole year before i wear something...it's not the outfit with me...but the right ocassion... sometimes i like to 'unveil' a new piece when i have a special event...it's funny... :P but it feels to good to wear something new and i would hate to have to try and find something just for an event...this way i already have it and it's just waiting for it's moment in the sun... :innocent: :flower:

I am the same with some stuff - I bought this beautiful blouse from Prada a few months ago & I haven't worn it & I don't really know when I will wear it but its so lovely looking I just wanted to have it - even just to look at...

Its good to know that I am not alone in my clothes/fashion obsession - most of my friends aren't really into fashion in the same way that I am so its been great fun to find this site to dialogue with like minded people. Thanks!

i think just the opposite...i think that dries stuff is either spot-on or totally off meaning that either you need the perfect thing to wear with it or it goes with nothing....

marni, at least in my wardrobe, tends to go with everything bc it doesn't really *match* anything just co-ordinates in that quirky (thrifty) way
Marni fits into your wardrobe? I didn't even know they made mens, but I could imagine it would be fabulous.

I love the fall 2008 collection of marni especially accesorries, dresses and all the colours going perfect with grays.I dont know why but marni collections catches me somewhere
