the selection at liberty is SO different from selfridges...
it's gonna be interesting to go back to nyc and see what it looks like there...


i like how he has started doing little t-shirting tops each season now...
little affordable tops to go with the heftier pricetagged pieces...
got a lovely blk knit top with a knot at one shoulder yesterday at liberty..
basically it sums up the collection in one piece...and at a very nice price...
very smart and cool...
i liked my top so much i wore it out of the store......

still not seeing much in the way of shoes other than the wedges which seem to be everywhere......

I got my invitation to the spring trunk show at Barneys, and it is gorgeous I'm not sure *why* I got it as I don't own any Dries, but perhaps this is a little tap on the shoulder telling me I should

It's a watercolored sketch of a bright outfit from the spring collection on extremely thick cardstock--quite lovely.

Does anyone know if these are still in store? I love them and they were just featured in Elle Mag (for Nov) so I'm hoping they're still out there or yet to come. I called Barneys NY (Madison) and the SA I spoke to said they didn't have it:

If anyone knows how the sizing runs on these, the pricing, or where I can get them, that'd be lovely.

luckyme - Thanks, I saw those, but I want the orange patent, though.

softgrey - do you think they'll still be in stores? It's from FW07 (and was featured in Elle Mag - Nov 07)? I know online stores have had them for a while (in other colours and similar styles) but I spoke to an SA at Barneys and they said they hadn't seen it, and that Elle is a month early so they just may not have it yet. Or is FW07 on the way out already?

dries always delivers in dribs and drabs so i am sure the stores will still be getting fall merchandise at least until the end of october...
but who knows what that will be...

my guess is that not very many stores will have bought the orange since it might not be an easy colour to sell...

i think the ones marvy posted are the only orange style i have seen in off the runway...

Hm, thanks everyone! I'll keep trying Barneys because they were listed as going to carry them in the Nov Elle. They did tell me to call back in a few weeks or so because they hadn't seen them yet (the NY store), so I figure if the NY store hasn't seen them yet (and they're most likely to get them - of all places I think the Madison Ave store should carry the full line), I'm hoping that colour is yet to come!

My favorite (as in I'd really like to wear this) collection was the anniversary one. I'm pretty much with you on this season, but I'd like to see it in person & also see what wasn't on the runway ...

Tourist: I think i've finally decided to get those ankle boots. Sorry to keep on bothering you, but did you get your normal size? Or does it run big/small? Since i'll spending so much, i want to make sure it fits well!

rollagasper, if it's any help, I have the tall version of that boot and they run true to size. Very comfy too, the ankle boot is a great choice!

So, who went to the trunkshow? Lucky? Soft?

yep...we went together!...
and then took a field trip to the comme store and went to a gallery to see a photo exhibit called 'myths'...

the photographer did a series of images in iceland illustrating various icelandic stories...
using models and icelandic fashion designers...
we got to meet the artist and his wife who told us all about the work which was so cool...
there is also a beautiful short film...
*i'll post details in the art and design forum if anyone is interested to see more...

then we had drinks at bottino..
it was quite lovely actually...

the trunk show was quite busy...
i'll let lucky tell you what she ordered..

the prints were really colourful and the silks are lovely...
but not so much my style...


*for the fall collection...
barney's did not have any of the t-shirts that i saw at liberty in london to go with the collection...
i am wondering if they ordered them at all or sold out...
