Early Helmut Newton 60s UK Vogue

Thought I'd share some early Helmut Newton from UK Vogue, already working his thing. It's interesting how quickly he moved from, in 65 to doing small shoots for Vogue, to mid 66 doing full editorials. I love how he had "his" models, that he used repeatedly, notably Jill Kennington, who was perhaps his first statuesque blonde, although she she just oozes charisma in all her photos.

Is this model Benedetta Barzini in a blonde wig?
These early shots are quite staid for Newton but the models are still radiating sexuality more so than any other photographer shot for Vogue in 65.

Vogue UK May 65 HUGE Newton spread featuring unknown models. It's funny how these WOMEN (rather than the girlish faces/bodies of Shrimpton/Sue Murray etc) really stand out against the more innocent Bailey shoots in this issue.

this is an amazing collection of images...
thanks for sharing...

they are so sexy and racy...
i could almost see a number of them appearing in playboy rather than vogue...

i have to say that i really like them a lot...
i love the extreme angles in some and the strength of the poses of the models...
even when they are in 'prone' positions...
they are strong...not fragile...

as mentioned earlier...
they are women...not girls...
and there is something extremely sexy and provocative about that...
