Designer Raf Simons is well known for his flamboyant and over the top clothing line. Raf’s seamless combination of bright colors, unique materials and innovative clothing cuts have become a staple of his designs. Raf now sets his sights and imagination on a collaboration with Eastpak for a variety of bags set to drop for the coming Fall/Winter 08/09 season. The accessories combine Eastpak’s practical utilitarian designs with Raf’s penchant for flair, color and edge. The standouts include a kitbag, Flap shoulder bag and a duffel with unique detailing and seldom used fabrics. The bags will be available for purchase in September.

Deisgner Raf Simons, one of today's most influential designers has created a capsule collection of high fashion technical bags in collaboration with bag maker Eastpak. We saw these on runway at Raf Simons' spring show but our friends at Selectism have just tipped us off that they are in stock at Oki-Ni for a mere £279.00 (yes, that's like $600!...) We've got some pics after the jump.

is it wrong that I like pretty much all of these? I love the shiny techno fabric duffel with the strange handle, I like the traditional eastpak backpack in the interesting fabrics and the other shiny techno ones. I don't even like wearing backpacks but I would definately wear these.

yeah I like all the ones in the last set of pictures but I think those are overpriced for what they are. That said, the canvas and the white/multi color ones are so pretty. I might get the duffel one actually...need to measure out it's size but it'd be great to add as a school bag....

Personally - I think the shiny stuff is tacky - and the backpacks/wool stuff looks very punk (in a "I'm gonna sew tons of band patches to my backpack" kind of way). The multicolored backpacks are really cute - but overpriced, plus I dont know what I would use it for.

THAT being said.
.. I LOVE the patent duffel. I agree it would make a great school bag. We can match!

I don't care for most of these bags.. I kind of like the Oversized Shoulder Bag and the Shiny Fabric Satchel, but probably wouldn't buy them. I do though like the grey wool fabric.

patches are so un-raf.....

I'm no fan of the patches on clothing, but he's used them quite a bit- especially in the Raf by Raf line's first season and some of his older mainline collections (f/w 05, probably that collection with the Bauhaus/New Order prints, the KOLLAPS collection, etc.). They're primarily used on totes and sweatshirts, but they also make appearances on blazers and outerwear.
