 :bounce:  These are all absolutely fabulous!!!! So many images I've never seen. You are making my day sing!

 Thanks! I've had them on my computer for awhile, but wasn't sure where to put them...though I probably should have just started a Steichen thread.

July 1932 Vogue featuring the first ever photographic cover (shot by Edward Steichen, though he is not credited within).

Found more photos by Steichen!

In Vogue, January 1925

"Close-up of the hands of model and writer Ilka Chase (aka Mrs. Norton Sager Brown) (daughter of VOGUE editor Edna Woolman Chase) as she plays with mah-jongg tiles: rope of pearls wrapped around one wrist; on the other arm an emerald and diamond bracelet (the emerald conceals a timepiece), and a diamond bracelet; an emerald-cut diamond ring; all from Cartier."

A little off topic - but the majong game is one of the oldest games still being played today - it traces back in historic time to 2350 b.c. Some tiles are made out of Bakelite! They used to be made of wood and ivroy, and a whole host of other natural materials that have become rare and precious. Lovely image! :flower:

While I've seen Mah Jong tiles in person, I've only played on the computer.

I love the match fabric photograph especially. I wonder what sparked the resulting image?
