I kind of believe the story because Elle looks very modern style and Claudia is just nice but elegant perhaps Elle would have wanted to be more styled up.
She looks more "natural" and Claudia is more "dressed up"
But if this really happend its a shame because Elle is gorgeous no matter what she wears, the same for Claudia

Am I the only one who thinks that Claudia Schiffer is overrated? Ok, she surely has a great body, and great hair. But her face to me looks bland (this is not to be mean or anything, just IMHO), the make-up doesn't do her justice and the hair cut could be improved as well.

I like Elle better and can't really believe that she'd throw such a trantrum over Claudia being there. But then again Models often don't have strong egos either.

Midlife crisis? Neurotic fear of getting old and no longer being able to keep up with other/younger women? Maybe that "who is "the body" dispute with Heidi Klum got to her? PMS? Or maybe just a bad/nervous day?

I`m not surprised and think Elle is becoming a definite candidate for tantrums.

But I don`t judge her and don`t think it is -that- bad. I think every women has at least once been to a party on a day where she felt bad about her self or insecure and projected these feelings on another women`s looks.

Umm ... I've certainly felt that someone else was more beautiful than I, but I've never thought that was cause to repine It's certainly sad and ironic (if true) that she's so insecure. Perhaps it's a no bad thing to walk out of the house without needing to be the most lovely when you arrive at your destination ...

I also had no idea that Rupert was the ideal accessory

Claudia is as bland as white bread and even at her peak she was never in the same league (in term of looks, charisma, talent, everything) as the Turlington/Christensen/Supermodel Mafia. Elle was never good looking imo, even more then then now . BUT she does have a very nice body (thought The Boby? I don't think so) and she has a quite phenomenal sex-appeal.
So Elle wins basically.

THERE is nothing uglier than a supermodel in a strop - as Elle Macpherson proved at Elle magazine's 21st birthday bash on Thursday.
The 43-year-old mum-of-two threw a terrific tantrum when Claudia Schiffer, 36, turned up on the arm of actor Rupert Everett - believing her younger catwalk rival had "stolen her thunder".
First Elle, who is nicknamed "The Body", refused to take off her coat - in case her black dress didn't outshine Claudia's stunning silver Versace gown.​

Then, fearing her looks didn't match up either, she demanded to be smuggled out of the back door.​

Both outfits are horrible (though Sciffer's barbarella number is a touch worse) and both women are plain (though Schiffer's lioness face is odder -my least favourite model) so they should be best friends not enemies. I wish Christy Turlington was still a social butterfly. I'd much rather see her face and her elegance in party shots.

ah, the pictures don't load up so i can't see who was the better looking model at the party...
but i always thought they were close to the same age. elle always seemed to be more level-headed, but who knows if the story is true.
