In case it hasn't been posted yet, this is Lacroix's last collection for Pucci; apparently Matthew Williamson's taking over  :
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2005 - In a Mediterranean wave of Aegean blue and Greek gold, Christian Lacroix bowed out of Emilio Pucci after three years at the helm.

"I've known for a long time, but I have only really taken it in this morning - and I think I will be shedding a tear by tonight," said Lacroix backstage.

Laudomia Pucci, daughter of the brand's founding father, confirmed Lacroix's departure after the showing of this summer 2006 collection on Tuesday.

"Pucci is a continuing story, she said. "We knew Christian before and we will still see him now. It is not goodbye but arrivederci.

And it is ciao! And hello! to the British designer Matthew Williamson. Although Catherine Vautrin, Pucci's CEO, said that the final decision is not made, sources in both London and Paris say that Williamson will ink a contract with LVMH Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, Pucci's parent company, this week. Another executive said that Williamson is the personal choice of Benard Arnault, and "que le roi veut," or what the king wants, he gets.

Lacroix has now left the LVMH group and he says that it would be "unfair" to his new owners, the Falic brothers, to continue at Pucci. The French couturier went out on a high note, emphasizing both the southern Mediterranean jet-set roots of Pucci and the fact that the company means more than prints. The show opened and closed with white dresses, illuminated with the jewelry from Ilias Lalalounis, whose daughter Dimitra was sitting front row.

The Aegean element - the gladiator sandals, flirty Grecian tunics and the occasional punctuation of black with silver decoration, all enriched the Pucci look. Lacroix's best legacy is in integrating a glam look with casual, easy-to-wear clothes. A cardigan mixing graphic black and white stripes and Pucci print, or a simple patterned halter top worn with a white cotton skirt proved that print can insinuate itself into the closet in the real world.
Striking swimsuits have become a Pucci staple, but a predominance of blue and sunset mauves and pinks added to the sophisticated seashore feeling. Like just about every Milan show, Pucci went on too long, offering every outfit under the Mediterranean sun. But the basic premise is right: that Pucci prints look as great for summer evening gowns as for a simple ribbon in pulled-back hair. And that fine jersey in juicy colors can extend the brand's identity.

except for his bow at the end, lacroix is absent in this collection.

actually there are many pieces in it which i LOVE. quite different from a lot of the other, more darker designs seen recently... :flower:

Lacrioux's last Pucci collection is his best yet. Ironic for a house known for psychedelic colors, some of the best pieces demonstrate a lack of colors or patterns.
