HARRY Potter star EMMA WATSON is transforming into a rock chick - and told me she's also enjoying a spell being single.

I had a rare opportunity to hang out with the movie megastar in New York this week as she debuted her new image for the video of hot rock band ONE NIGHT ONLY.

First, I had to get to the bottom of her so-called romance with Spanish drummer RAFAEL CEBRIAN.

The 20-year-old star has been linked to the playboy - named one of Spain's five hottest men - after ditching long-time love JAY BARRYMORE two months ago.

But the world's highest paid actress insisted she's single for the first time in two years as she continues her studies at the prestigious Brown University.

She told me: "I'm glad you asked me that because I would like to clear it up. Rafael is NOT my boyfriend. He is a friend.

"We met at Rada a couple of years ago and he has showed me around university." Emma looked stunning as she hung out on set for song Say You Don't Want It with the band - who she has got to know after starring with hunky lead singer GEORGE CRAIG in a Burberry modelling campaign.

George, from Helmsley, Yorkshire, told me: "We became really great mates and she asked to be in the video. She wants to be a rock chick after ten years of Harry Potter."

And Emma revealed she'd love her next acting role to involve music. She told me: "I love singing and I'd love to be in a musical film now Harry Potter is finished." With her exams now over, Emma is unsure what to do in the summer. I'm sure she'll find a rockin' role.

EMMA'S not the only cracking single around - the new song from her pals' band, Say You Don't Want It, is sure to be a big hit. ONE NIGHT ONLY should be Britain's next big rockers.

Singer GEORGE CRAIG is the most charismatic young frontman for some time. The five-piece are set to unleash a stomping second album in August, with an ace 80s-inspired electro influence.
