Emma Watson

Marie Claire UK often reprints Marie Claire US, so it could be the case it turns up in both anyway. But I doubt that one shoot will be used elsewhere.

That's what I thought! So I'm gonna take the latest tweet by the person who posted that she worked with Emma on a photoshoot for Elle, Teen Vogue, Premier, Company and Marie Claire with a grain of salt.. It'll be great if she was in all but like you said, its doubtful that one shoot would be used elsewhere especially for different magazines..

The other photoshoot mentioned in NY was posted by a stylist who seems to work primarily for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and I-D magazine so hopefully she'll be in one of these as well..

I can see Emma turning up on Harper's, and then perhaps an edition of Vogue for the last installment of the DH's. I'm sorting taking these tweets with a grain of salt though, I very much doubt Emma did a cover shoot for Company magazine. It would be a big, big step down for her if she had.

I do agree its not a totally reliable source but... I still hope that she's on a few of these magazines. It would be weird if they all used the same photographs though, I think thats very highly unlikely seeing as their not all from the same publication house.

Emma may have shot different photoshoots for different magazines in the same week. She starts school soon so they probably had to do all the shoots at the same time. The girl who tweeted may have only worked on one shoot, but she could have just known about the others. Emma or one of the stylists may have told her. :)

Her hair would look a lot better if it were not styled that way. Spiking it up in the back makes her look like a horrible mix of a) a soccer mom, b) a stereotype of butch lesbians, and c) a bird. It's such an unfortunate styling choice.

The photo again proves how weak her bone structure is. She is very pretty, but her face has NO angles.

^ such a true world abut the look.

For me it is not the short hair issue but the style issue. Sh ewould look lovely with short hair like A.Hepburnd in Rome Vacation with heavy fringe which would frame her face and focus on her eyes

Since when does a strong jawline or jutting cheekbones(aka angles) equal beauty? There are different representations of beauty. Emma's type of beauty happens to be soft and really classic. Her new hairstyle is also a classic style. I think its cool that its so short because she will be able to see what it looks like at every length as it starts to grow. I also agree that it will look better with longer bangs, but Emma likes it and that's really all that matters. :)

Indeed, she is very pretty! She has a beautiful face, but I don't necessarily think that this haircut is right for her because she has no angles. You just get a little lost... like her face is a big round dish. If her face were a painting, in terms of composition, there would be no directional guidance. I want to be drawn-in, given clues as to where I am supposed to look, what does her new short hair bring to light about her face? I see that she is beautiful, but I feel like I am mostly reacting in shock rather than to a flattering haircut.
I want her hair to make me notice her face differently or bring attention to a particular feature. A beautiful face is a beautiful face with or without hair, a haircut won't change that. But, a GOOD haircut will tell us something MORE about the person's features. Maybe even bring something new and enticing into light.
Emma needs a little framing, maybe some fringe. She'll have a lot of options once it grows out a little.

I think the new haircut highlights her eyes. She's always had beautiful, brown/hazel eyes and the short hairstyle makes them seem bigger. So, to me, that's what the new haircut brings attention to. Her eyes.
When Emma's hair was longer, she usually had it styled so that it disguised her somewhat larger forehead, so you didn't notice her eyes as much.
But I don't think she cut it, because of style reasons. She just wanted to try something new. ;)

Short hair makes her more interesting. I think it has the potential to be great, but crunchy/spiked styling is a disaster on anyone, even if you're an extra on the L Word or a teenage boy and it's 1998! Ugh! But it's lovely when it's worn softly against her forehead in a 60's way. I also wonder what it might be like if she played with the colour a bit? She's got such strong eyebrows and dark eyes, I think she could pull off a deeper brown or even go lighter.

UK Vogue discusses Emma's new hairdo in a new article about beauty trends:

"Pretty Pixies"

Sharon Forrester

12 August 2010

LAST week Harry Potter star and Burberry model Emma Watson went against the grain by chopping off her hair into an extremely short pixie haircut, revealing it to fans on Facebook and Twitter alongside the comment, "I love it. I've wanted to do this for years and years; it's the most liberating thing ever." While her dramatic cut was an instant sensation, Watson is not the only famous face to "liberate" themselves from lengthy locks. We spoke to creative director of Daniel Hersheson salons hairstylist extraordinaire George Northwood, who counts Watson among his bulging client list, to get his thoughts on our pick of celebrity pixie crops both old and new.

For those among you looking to try out the style, Northwood suggests a little "creative visualisation" first: "I would say tie your hair back as tight as you can and see what you think of your ears. So many girls have never really seen their ears because they always have their hair covering them, so I'd say do that first. Maybe take some pictures from the side, of the profile, too. Ask yourself 'do I like myself and my ears without hair'." Wise words indeed.

Regardless of it being an expression of style or liberation, if you are going to chop your hair off, why not get a good haircut?

I think it's a good haircut. So there :p. Didn't appreciate the styling in EW but she looks amazing in that awful romper thing. She stands out waaaaay more than she did in the past & looks far more interesting. I much prefer any kind of risky style than safe, safe, safe all the time. Her hair was plumb boring before, nice as it was. And if she'd gone for a simple bob or the trendier "short" styles it wouldn't be as thrilling, neither for her or for me :D.

I have to say I can't agree with anyone that says it makes her look more interesting or whatever. I'm sorry, but I just think it's a bad hair cut, and a bad decision for her. The more I see of it the more I actually am starting to think it looks awful. It's just not working for me at all, and I hope it's not something she keeps up... I'd like the Emma with beautiful, natural wavy hair back.

I'm trying... really, I am... but the new haircut is not growing on me.

She looks like Jamie Lee Curtis in the SnitchSeeker image and that's not necessarily a good thing for a girl so young.

No need to apologize ;). I hate those star style threads filled with post after post of "OMG I love _____."

^Same here. Weirdly enough, Emma's thread is one of the only ones in which the celeb
appears to get more negative comments than positive.
Or maybe I'm just reading the wrong ones. :p

I think it's clear that a lot of people either like the haircut,
like the idea that she did it, or just flat out hate it. ;)

I think it will look better if she grows out the bangs now that I've thought about it.
Maybe something similar to Michelle Williams pixie after it had grown out a few inches:
