Emmanuelle Alt - Stylist

Did I read correctly that Alt and Roitfeld are no longer on speaking terms  Really, why? They seem to be very tight...

Yes, I'm sad to hear about that too! I'm not sure they were really close though. Sure they attended shows together, but the main cause is that they worked for the same magazine, not friendship.

omg ....
borrring borrrring .....

Vogue Paris will remain the same, after all ...

and she drinks diet coke, even more boring .....

Why change something that works so well?

And lets just wait and actually see her work as editor before we complain....

well because basically when you hire a new EIC you wait for changes ...
just have a look at a VP in 1999 and one in 2001 and you can observe the changes ...

and who cares about the dames in Neuilly ? they are boring and conservatives as hell ...

I'm more curious to see the new stylist contributer list of new Vogue Paris!

oh cannot wait to see that list ... Géraldine Saglio, probably ...

Emmanuelle Alt, The New Editor of Vogue Paris, on Daria Werbowy, Celebrity Covers, and New Designers

More French girls, more French lifestyle.

I always want a relationship with reality: nothing too sexy, or provocative, or fashion victim. Even if I love to dream, I want the magazine to feature a girl who looks like she belongs in real life. We are French—we can show smoking, nudity. We have no boundaries, and it can be good to have them."

As far as I'm concerned, the above quotes are steps to the right direction. I'm longing for Paris Vogue to become, well... Parisian again, after all the Roitfeld vulgarities.

^I can get on board with all of that. As an American reader, I'm looking to see Paris in Paris Vogue.

^but you see Paris in VP! every other editorial is shot either on place de concorde or in the 7eme...

I agree.

Plus I do not buy Paris Vogue because i want to see radical fast forward fashion, I like the fact that they are not totally disconnected from reality. I hope the style remains the same. There are other publications dedicated to fashion in the purest form. I like their concept, and I'm glad it won't change much. It will be interesting to see after all what was Carine's and what was Emmanuelle's.

Emmanuelle Alt on The Daily and Outside at Fashion Week

French Vogue’s new Editrix is the talk of the tents today. Emmanuelle Alt had a full exposé in The Daily Front Row and took over the cover, though without an actual interview in the mag, we can’t be sure it was entirely conciliatory. Here she is coming out of Prabal Gurung, boxy jacketed and denimed as ever, and… what’s that in her hand? Oh snap! A Daily Front Row. She’s got a bit of light reading ahead of her.

The story mused over her beginnings, from the 90s assistantship at French Elle, Fashion Editor jobs at 20 Ans and Mixte, then her decade at French Vogue. They compared soundbites from Emmanuelle to quotes from Carine – it’s a little bit of who said it best. Though the Daily promises to answer under the radar questions, they were never really able to ask them. It’s mostly research and speculation. It was entertaining, but I’d really love the actual lowdown of what’s going on in her mind and at French Vogue.
