Emmanuelle Alt - Stylist

'Emmanuelle Alt in the Front Row'

'There were plenty of famous faces at the MANGO fashion show, but we must give a special mention to Emmanuelle Alt, Fashion Editor at Vogue Paris. The archetypal fashionista came to the event dressed in her characteristic look: suit jacket with skinny trousers and a bag from the MANGO collection, what an honour! We’ll sign off with a photo of her at the event.'

Carine has stepped down as the editor in chief as VP-Emmanuelle HAS to get the job!!!!!

Seriously??? Can I ask why you think not???
I think she would perfectly uphold the Vogue Paris aesthetic

I personally don't think she'd be great for the job, her aesthetic seems so linear, but she's been said to be the front runner for the job in an article on nytimes.com. ;)

^ haah so true, and as much I love Alt as an editor/ stylist i don't think she would be great as a VP head. I can't say why but for me it isn't right.

if she'd become editor in chief, I assume she'd have to step down from her styling jobs at Balmain/ Isabel Marant/ Gucci....

OK but replacing Carine is not only about styling. It's above all about running a team and a whole magazine. I like Emmanuelle's current work, but who knows if she could take a position with a whole other set of responsabilities? It's hard to say from our point of view since we've never seen her at work ;)

Sure, but there is nothing to say that she couldn't either....
And her current role does involve overseeing a team, albeit a small one.

^ I didn't say she couldn't do it, because the bottom line is we can't say whether she would be a good replacement or not.

she was EIC for '20 ans' for a few years
so she does have the experience of being more than a fashion director
but taking on PV would be a whole nother animal...
