FIRST NAME ONLY: Ermanno Scervino is gearing up to unveil Ermanno, the designer’s first women’s contemporary brand.
The collection will launch for fall during Milan Fashion Week. The line will be produced and distributed under license by manufacturing company Spazio 6, based in Carpi, in Italy’s Northern Emilia Romagna region.
“This new brand reflects our desire to have a glamorous, contemporary line targeting a younger public compared to that of our main line,” said Toni Scervino, chief executive officer of Ermanno Scervino. He stressed that, although the new line is to be completely produced in Italy, it will retail at “much lower prices than the Ermanno Scervino range.”
Scervino said that the company and Spazio 6 aim to generate revenues of 20 million euros, or $24.3 million at current exchange rates, within three years. The first collection will include a range of ready-to-wear styles such as wide-legged pants paired with down jackets with Mongolia details. Mixing masculine and feminine fabrics, the outerwear offering will also feature more severe coats, as well as eco-fur caps.
The Ermanno Scervino company closed 2014 with revenues of 100 million euros, or $122 million at average exchange rate.
