Ivano, you're so predictable! I have no idea who this bloke is but before I opened the thread I knew that a) he had to be attractive or b) half naked, or c) both.

The nude pose is artistic in a barely-there-male-model-moonlighting-at-a-community-art-class-to-make-ends-meet sort of way. With a middle name like Angel it makes sense.
Real question is, are Spanish men this liberal when it comes to male nudity? Last I checked this magazine's audience was very macho. All Esquire readers across the globe are like that. Even South Korean men are quite macho (don't be fooled by the fact that they wear more foundation than you!). Esquire Singapore is the only one from the stable that pushes a more fluid male, but obviously subtle because....you know, Singapore.

Maybe the readers will approach it from an aspirational point.
