Esteban Cortazar S/S 06 New York

maybe a mod could correct the title here...
Esteban Cortazar...

^ Thanks for the info. :flower:

I personnally am not a fan of this designer.....

he's good for his age, but not good enough for the catwalk, IMO... he would be good for working for a larger house until he grows up a little in his work...

His collection is not too bad but lacks creativity and originality imo.....

So disappointed this season. I liked some of his earlier work.

the blue dress was very nice. I'm starting to like him more and more.

This looks incredibly old and boring... he seems very influenced by uptown-americana-dressing, but his take appears even older than from some NY heavyweights (such as Oscar De La Renta or Carolina Herrera).

I completely agree with whoever said that he shouldn't be designing his own line. I don't have problems with young designers who are 'prodigies' but he really should not be given a place at nyc imo.....he'd be much better suited to designing under someone at a larger house....

these look like high school prom dresses imo
I completely agree. I was looking for a way to describe these dresses, and that's spot on. They look like something that I could pick up in my local mall.

Like someone else said, he's too young. Not that young is a bad thing, but the only young designer that's going to succeed on their own is someone with a clear understanding of what their aesthetic is, what their strengths and weakneses are, and what they want to contribute to/improve upon in the fashion industry.

He doesn't have those qualities from what I've seen of him...he's just very overhyped, and way too immature as a designer.

Online sarcasm through use of emoticon. Love it.

He would do better under de la Renta, Herrera, or another of the New York designers. He does have talent, but he isn't one of the Proenza boys.

Nothing that shouts out at me. It seems pretty safe, but not hideous.
