Etro F/W 2025.26 Milan

I’m ready for tomatoes to be thrown at me: the Etro print needs to go. It’s ugly as hell, it’s overused and never got its “cool” rebranding. Particularly on silk it looks cheap af. I always hope that Etro has a full 360 turnaround the way Bottega had back in the post Tomas Meier days with Daniel, for example. Okay the clothes are pretty but I always ask myself - will they sell? Are they wearable? It the shoe development team is still the same as it was 4-5 years ago these shoes should not be worn lol. Generally from my opus here you can tell i never liked Etro

^ I do kind of agree that Etro doesn’t need to have paisley prints head to toe considering it was only introduced in the 80s.

I’d like to start to see more focus on the textiles and luxurious fabrics likes damasks, brocades, intricate weaves and so on. Something less “dusty”. Etro after all started as textiles brand and they could be an Italian equivalent to Dries Van Noten (who also comes from a family of textiles traders)

The colours palete here is beautiful and Marco seems to be talented enough and understand exactly what the Etro needs to stay relevant in current times.

It's just so outdated to have that print everywhere, over and over again, its beginning to look mega vulgar to plast it everywhere. There's nothing fun or youthful about it, nor glamorous or elegant about it.its just a pile of nothing

Fausto baby, Marco De Vincenzo is eating you up at Etro. Please take a look at the direction you should’ve been taking at cavalli

With that said, I have to agree with @proseccotabis , the etro paisley print is just dusty. Even as I walked past the boutique in SoHo yesterday, everything was nice, but the print will never be cool.

Great collection though.

They should switch! That'd be fun to watch!

Having said that - is anyone buying etro these days? It seems that a lot of older women are wearing it ( NOTHING wrong with that), but maybe they should signal that audience in one way or another via their campaigns / shows? that would be awesome.
That print makes me physically sick. Mixed with their VM that is also covered in that print its literally nauseating lol

I bought something. It was a silk shirt in like like a yellow lime color paisley so I thought it would translate younger but I never wore it. They should venture out of paisley and have more competitive pricing strategy now until they have more push behind them.

With that said, i just consigned that shirt to the RealReal over the weekend.

I bought one handbag from Etro last season and am absolutely IN LOVE with it. The quality is top notch. I have a Vela Bag on my wishlist next.

This is not my favorite collection from the new era of Etro, but in general I really love the direction of the brand under Marco de Vicenzo. I think he is very good at channelling the "sexy, bohemian, intellectual" in a completely different way than Prada (manic depressive librarian) or Michele era Gucci (hopeless romantic theatre major bisexual).

The brand was acquired somewhat recently by a private equity outfit associated with LVMH. It's clear that they have actually invested a lot in taking the brand to the next level, and the quality of the products demonstrates this. Lots of the runway looks make it to the boutiques... they're fun to visit.

If they’re gonna keep at it with a paisley, it needs to be more monochromatic and manipulated. Like that Fendi collection that turned the paisley into an animal print. Either that or keep it as a lining for garments.

I don’t like the styling of this, but I do like a lot of pieces. I wouldn’t say I’m a paisley apologist, but I do like a good variation of it. Although I do agree that’s really overused here. The jacquards are nice, taking on a more filigree element of it. Maybe a flocked/burnout velvet of paisley or even a paisley lace? I dunno, just shift it away and use it less so the garments that use it have more impact and intention with the print.
