Follower of dark colors, rock, very high heels and very flat ballerinas, Eugenie Niarchos makes her key cities vibrate with her own cheerfulness; which is nicely contagious… and has a really inspired allure.A GIRL. Daughter of Stavros Niarchos, a Greek shipowner and figure of the new generation of the clan with the same name, EN was born in NYC, has studied Art History in Paris and has just settled down in London. She travels constantly from Notting Hill where she lives to Paris to visit friends and family in Saint-Germain-de-Près. Her style is very secured, including choices without compromise, enjoying fashion as a game. She can be named as the trendiest fashion icon of La Mancha’s tunnel.A STYLE. Black is her essential colour, in minidresses or in shorts, summer or winter, She finds her most-loved pieces in London, at Topshop. Others are from Portobello and Camden and others from smalls boutiques selected by chance and that can only be found there (in London) like Ad Hoc in King’s Road, where she has bought one of her only two pairs of jeans. In NYC she chooses Patricia Field’s boutique (SATC). All feminine and sexy dresses with scalpel silhouettes; vests and Dior Homme suits (for women); “even if I don’t wear them myself because I’m very tiny”ACCESSORIES. Daily, black Reppetto ballerinas and Prada leather ankle boots; emphasizing a high waist. Scarfs from McQueen and new and vintage jewelry (specially big bracelets); but always simple. I tend to prefer her casual style to her dressy style. Sometimes her done-up moments seemed too contrived, like that awful short dress at the Zanotti party in Paris Fashion Wk. By contrast, I love the more 'honest' style from October 2003 when she and Charlotte were hanging out in NYC, like the cute knit kind of paper boy hat and red coat, with jeans and converse sneakers.
She was really pretty at the Repossi Czarina launch. She tends to look better when it looks like she tried less, which is frankly how I feel about most people! Some people just try so hard they ruin what should be natural!!
