I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, the housewives behaving badly and stirring up drama is what makes it entertaining television and I don't think anyone tunes in wanting or expecting a morality lesson. On the other hand, the most recent season of RHOBH showed that these women being confronted with race-related issues doesn't make for bad television by default. That and several of the other franchises, most recently RHOSLC, show that a more diverse cast can also contribute to great television.
Concerning NYC and Eboni, I think she's just too smart and career-minded to risk embarrassing herself in TV the way the other housewives that were in that franchise on during her season regularly do, and I just don't think the clash made for compelling television. Also it was during the early days of the pandemic and in New York, so even putting together a season at that time was probably a mistake. Thinking about past cast members, I think if Carole, Bethenny, or Dorinda had been there to interact with Eboni, it would have worked much better.
