Evil Eye Jewelry

I would buy that kind of stuff by the tens to give to my friends when I'd get back from travelling.. :)

i have a beautiful evil eye bracelet from greece but cant seem to find it...i wanted to take a photo for this thread....:(
** that can't be a good sign...losing an 'evil eye' bracelet....LOL...

when I lived in mexico I saw a lot of people wearing them. mexico still has that 'mystic' quality about its culture where a lot of people believe in the evil eye...my grandmother used to tell me when an 'evil eye' bracelet (or necklace) fell off or broke, it meant that it had absorbed its quota of negative energy.
(I still prefer to believe this instead of thinking the chain simply broke:lol:)

No it can't:shock:

I wear two evil eye bracelets that I bought in Greece daily...

I put a bead from a cheap bracelet on silver hoop earrings-each hoop has an evil eye on it. I love them...and need to buy some better hoops-these have almost quit snapping in the back I've worn them every day for the last year or two..

thought i would bump this thread..
will hopefully post pics soon of my evil eyes :)

:ninja: I never heard of that. My bracelet broke just two days after wearing it. I just ordered 10 more on ebay, so hope they get here soon!

Blee Inara seems to have some nice pieces, Im thinking of getting this bracelet:

does anyone know if the eye has to be blue? like is there some kind of symbolism behind it?

because I don't think I have ever seen an evil eye jewelry that isn't blue..

i've seen some that isn't blue...

but blue is definitely the tradition...

i'll see if i can find some pics of non-blue...
you got me curious now :p

When I was looking for those I read a piece about the colours, I think it said blue was considered lucky in Turkey etc. and sometimes you get red as thats considered lucky for Jewish and you can get other colours but usually thats just a fashion thing.

here are a few examples of non-blue...

i've seen lots of multi-colored versions..

wow quick replies:clap::woot:

Deborah - I did not know that, but it makes sense considering it's supposed to protect you from the evil eye (which could equal giving good luck)

Chrissy those are really beautiful, that hand thingy kind of reminded me a bit of Faridahs (not sure:unsure:) hand but then I realized it just said handmade on them:p

I think I'm going to take a look at that website

I just tried searching for Faridahs hand but I realized it's Fatimas hand (Hand of Fatima or it's called Hamsa) which is also supposed to protect you from the evil eye
