Eye Lash Growth

I also read somewhere that one of the effects is losing some of the fat in the area around the eye

Loss of collagen? That can't be good, losing collagen is what makes a person look older.

used latisse but stopped after i noticed darkening of my lower eyelids. I also have extra tiny lashes growing right below my lash line on my lower eyelids...weird, and hurts to pluck!

I haven't noticed darkening but I don't think they mean dark circles, I think it's just the thin line where you apply it like eyeliner. I haven't read anywhere that it causes fat loss, just the possibility of extra pigmentation. Honestly I think this is one of the safest prescriptions, I wouldn't be surprised if it's sold over the counter eventually.

Really? OMG that's so strange! I can't even picture that.

Maybe I misinterpreted and it was the darkening of the eyelids? I don't know, but I figure that since I use eyeliner anyway, if it got darker there, I wouldn't be too bothered.

i would love to get the lastisse or lumigan.

i am not sure if i understand it correctly: are lastisse ans lumigan the same?

where and how can i get it in germany? is it possible that a normal doctor give a suscription for that?

i would love to try it.

been using latisse for 2 weeks now..and i noticed that the area around my eyes are darker. eyelashes grow a bit..i have to see it after a month or so..will update you guys.

also, since i started using it..my eyes feel more awake! even at times that i don't have sleep. must be one of the effects of using it. does anyone feels the same??

my eye doctor told me that my eyes could get red after using lumigan. Has anyone experienced it??

latisse and lumigan are the same but you can only get a prescription for latisse unless you have glaucoma. I think it's only available in the US right now but any doctor can prescribe it once you can get it in germany.

thank you guessgirl :flower:

i can't wait to try it. too bad everything seems to come to germany so late.

I haven't experiencied it but your eyes can react to just about anything you use. Honestly the side effects sound much worse than they are in my experience. Just use a thin line on your top lashes only and don't slather it everywhere.

i use ricinus oil, but i always forget to put it on, so it doesn't really help. but people are saying that it's really good

Oh, I was just reading the Latisse instructions in the Vogue ad. One is not supposed to put it on lower eyelids. It doesn't say why though.

And p3apod, I'm not sure about my eyes feeling more awake, but I probably look like I have bigger more awake-looking eyes with more lashes? ^_^

Thank you eunhe and p3apod for sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear it, though. I would love to have longer, fuller lashes but not in exchange for dark circles around my eyes.

Been using Talika's eyelash conditioning gel for a week now and so far I'm loving it. No irritations or dark circles, and my boyfriend says my eyelashes have definitely gotten a bit thicker and slightly longer. I agree!! Can't wait to see the final results... Just 21 more days to go.

So a couple weeks ago I started using this gel by Ardell on my eyebrows to speed up their growth after an unfortunate threading last month. I've had this tiny little bald spot in my left eyebrow for years and it's started to fill in! It can be used on eyelashes too.

I'm just putting that out there because I've been looking for good alternatives to Latisse and there might be others out there like me.

Question for the Latisse/Lumigan people here:

I've heard that around 4 months, some people start losing their long lashes for a bit and their eyelashes go back to almost normal. Then, after about a month, they start growing again. Have any of you had this happen?

I've been using it daily for over 4 months and have not had this happen. In fact, my eyelashes are really long now - to the point where even people like my clueless self-absorbed brother have noticed. I cannot tell you how much I love this stuff. (And no my eye color has still not changed either!)

^ Actually, no.

I'm still on my first bottle of Latisse that I bought at my dermatologist's office. I use it daily, but sparingly.

I haven't checked, but I had heard that one cannot buy it at alldaychemists anymore without a prescription. I could be very wrong though.

OH NOOOO!!! well i visited alldaychemist today and it says that I could only order by phone... wth!!! help is definately needed. I want some eyelash growth. Latisse is wayy too expensive for me.
