Eye Lash Growth

Never mind still trimming at 80, you could end up with greying eyelashes at 30! Imagine that, wiry, coarse, grey scalp hair growing out of your eyes, that you have to continually cut off.

Those magazine articles about eyelash transplants try to sell it as an easy answer, but it sounds like it leaves you with constant aftercare.

 Never even thought about that. I read something funny for all you House fans:
Imagine getting an eyelash transplant but then suddenly you fall into an unexplained coma. So of course you get referred to the nation's best diagnostician, Dr. House. But being in a state of unconsciousness, you won't be able to trim your eyelashes so House and his team are racking their brains trying to conclude a diagnoses that explains rapidly growing (and maybe greying) eyelashes!

I thought it was funny :innocent:

I got latisse and I read that it works just well if you use one drop on one applicator for both eyes, so it lasts 2 months instead of one which I have been doing. My problem is that the applicator absorbs all of the product it seems and feels completely dry on my eyes. I think I'm just going to get my own eyeliner brush and hope that works better. I cant wait for my fabulous lashes!!

after just a week I already see a difference in my lashes with lattise. It's not significant but I'm excited to see what they'll look like at 16 wks when you see the full effect.

Yea, I knew that before but now I'm really thinking about it, and I realized that I don't think I'll have the desire to trim my eyelashes when I'm 80. So I got my hands on some Lumigan, hope it lives up to its hype!

Good for you. Let us know how the Lumigan goes. Are you applying it with a mascara wand?

My mom has a prescription for Lumigan (for her Glaucoma). It costs $25.00. Latisse is $125.00:lol:. But I think the Latisse bottle is larger, so that makes sense!

Maybe you should buy mascara wands. I would imagine it's easier to do that. I'm getting Latisse.

Also, to prevent dryness, here's what I would suggest. Each night mix a couple drops of castor oil and olive oil and coconut oil (you can just use castor oil if you like). Take a TINY bit and put on your eyelashes. It will moisturize them and prevent the drying that you talk about. Castor oil also supposedly helps make eyelashes grow (so at the very least, it can't hurt).

The worst thing would be if you grow these extra long eyelashes, only to have them fall off because they are so dry!

Keep us posted. I know it says you aren't supposed to use on lower lashes, but I wonder if we can;) (especially if we are really careful)

I meant that even after you apply a drop of latisse to the brush it absorbs it all and feels completely dry, so you waste a lot of product. I switched to an eyeliner brush and its much better, I dont recommend the applicators that come with it. I'm not sure that a mascara wand is a good idea since I think you only need the product at the roots and you'd use the up the tiny bottle really quick.

I know that Lipocils - by Talika, is a product made of natural ingredients, so it's really rare to have allergies. and my mom has a cosmetic store so we have our clients reviews, and thats a really really good product and it sells really fast and everybody talks about it because it's wonderful.
Of course I have my own, and there was a point that it bothered me that my lashes were too long! and now I use it just because it keeps my lashes healthy and they dont fall. but if I dont use the curler they grow into my eyes. hahaah

and a note from the site:
Lipocils is the only product on the market to rightly claim and prove eyelash growth. It is the only product ever to be authorized in France to advertise this claim.

I'm applying it with an eyeliner brush. You only need to apply the product to the base of your lashes, so I don't think a mascara wand would be the best applicator.

I can't believe how fast my little bottle is going and I swear I don't use much at all!! I was thinking about getting one of those TINY brushes that are sold for nail art in Sally Beauty but wasn't sure how safe that would be.

suburban thats surprising, how long have you had yours? I cant tell how much I've used up but it seems to me like theres more than 60 drops in there so I'm expecting it to last at least two months. Im using a sephora eyeliner brush, one drop is enough for both eyes and I still have a little left over for my brows. Are you seeing any results? the difference is minimal but after just 10 days I can tell my lashes are longer.

I've had it for about a month but I haven't been using it every day because sometimes I forget (and I forgot it when on Spring Break)....I think the wands they give you blow so I think I might get a brush, I think that is where all the product is going, on the wand and not on my eye...You can probably control the brush better too.

i've noticed my lashes to be heaps longer when i stopped using mascara like couple weeks ago and applied body shop eye cream that was to revitalize my eyes which i pat on under my eye and just above my lashes ,don't know if it works for everyone but it did for me :)

but def. stop using mascara and only apply it for very special occasion

After 12 days of use, the difference in my lashes is equal to week 4-8 on the before/afters on the latisse website. I love it, it seems like every day I wake up with longer lashes. They're not long enough for me to stop wearing mascara yet but still the difference in amazing. I think I'm getting a faster result since I'm not using their horrible applicators. My eyebrows are a little fuller too. Latisse is like a dream come true.
