Fair / Pale Skin

I'm obsessed with them! It's terrifying! I've forgotten the name of the more extreme ones...mountain hags or something....

Yamanba!

Oh yes, I shall post some pictures there. Thanks for reminding me!

^^^WTF?!

Hope you posted that in the plastic look thread

I've noticed that my BF's family (they're from Iran) really admires my pastiness  His mum is very pale too and she never tans - she has no wrinkles, of course. Being pale is hot sh*t over there, it seems.

They think I look Russian though. I have no idea if that's true...or if Russians have a particular look. Funny :D

As my English accent is so mixed up with North American and English some English say im from Poland?? I mean they think i might be eastern European but this happened often to me when i wasn't blondie anymore... when i was blondie they assumed i was local then i did spoke and they assumed i was Eastern... even German?... Even some tourists here in Spain have thought this summer i was Scottish with an slightly of American accent... weird... I didn't spent that much in the fabulous Scotland.:D

Russian boys are so cute so i guess must be a compliment!! If boys are cute girls too!!:D

Your skin is very similar to mine color wise. What foundation do you use?

Well in winter to get a color that does match with mine and make some cover I use:
MAQUIMAT Ultra naturel from Lancome.(Natural matt foundation. 03 beige diaphane).
And sometimes to fix it and clear it up so although that's quite dry and left your skin soft! I use some powder 001...that is even a bit more pale...so the effects are perfect;)

(By my own experience never orange foundations and more to the soft pink ones...)

They haven't met me as they are in Iran and, well, I'm not going there anytime soon ;) They just think I look like a Russian ballerina

It's funny that people that are pale and blonde can be found in a lot of places...but that just goes to show that you can't tell where a person is from only by looks or even accent :D

It's nice to know there are others with death pale skin, and who actually put sunscreen on. I was beginning to feel like (A very lonely) a party of one.;)

Not alone! If I don't put on sunscreen I'm red within the hour. I'm afraid I'm going to age like a grape with all the burns I get.

i dont care about make-up but i never leave the house without sunscreen!

Have any of you tried powder sunscreens? I had never even heard of them until this summer but can't live without it now :P
I also love sunscreen in those spray cans, like hairspray makes it so easy when you're on the go......it's the only way I can get my husband to wear sunscreen is if I just spray him down ha ha.

I'm pretty pale myself, but I actually like that characteristic about me. I don't think I'll look better with being tan. It just won't fit in with me. I have friends who envy me because I am pale and they are too tan. Even when I'm outside, I don't really tan so much. However, my legs are much more pale than my face and sometimes I hear that it looks like the color of dough  but whatever. That's just how I am. I think it also helps show people that I have pretty good skin. ;)

^ Yeah, I like being pale now, too. I used to hate it, but now I love the contrast I get with pale skin and dark hair. It makes my eyes stand out and lets me pull of more dramatic makeup, plus I get a natural pink flush in my cheeks because I'm so pale(That I love until I blush and my face turn into a tomato). The one problem I have is that you can see the veins on my chest, which is just :yuk:, and my legs look doughy, too. But I've learned to accept it.:D

I get the veins (and possibly stretch marks) on my chest area as well and whenever spring/summer rolls around, I can't help be a little bit self-contentious whenever wearing a bikini or even a low v-neck top. I've been considering about laser treatment but it's so expensive just to have a few remove... price you pay for porcelain skin my doctor says anyway.

I just realized the other day when I was shopping for a new hand cream that I use sunscreen on my face every day but not on my hands! So I picked up a hand cream that has spf in it. Anybody else use a hand cream with spf? I never really thought about it before and I don't want to get age spots on my hands or have my hands age faster than they should.
I got Neutrogena norweigan formula spf 30.

Speaking of Iran, the amount of skin bleaching products over there is ridiculous. Same as Dubai. Even Garnier has a skin lightening cream. Most of us pale girls have spent our lives wishing we could get a bit of colour and these poor women are being encourage to bleach their poor faces. It's scary!

^ There's always some beauty ideal being imposed on us. It's either one thing or another. I rather just stick to what works for me.

Oh, and I got told I was "exotic" so much in Iran and I'm pale with red hair. It was crazy, if you're pasty and want your self esteem boosted go there

I usually do whatever I do to my face to my hands and neck (Wash with cleanser, moisturize, apply sunscreen, etc). The skin there is very delicate, so I don't treat it like the rest of my body, but as a extention of my face^_^. My mother always told me you can tell how old someone is by their neck and hands:lol:.

recently i complimented someone with a nice tan because it suits them. i never said that i wanted to be tan myself and i don't care to be. it annoys me when they assumed i must be unhappy because i'm pale lol it offends me! i appreciate their beauty for what it is but it doesn't mean that i want to be like them, jeez! they so swear!

it's like they couldn't wrap their head around the fact that some people don't care about these things, making time to lay out or slather on the fake bake etc. i find beauty in how they look even though its different from me but i'm not interested in trying to emulating others.

Aha! I am super pale and wear sunscreen too. Heck, I saw how constant exposure to the elements affected my mother (she's lovely, but having had extremely pale skin and a love of outdoor pursuits all her life, it definitely took it's toll when she aged) and other sun worshipers.
Not only that, but I have blonde lashes/brows also, and never felt quite right with a tan. Oddly enough, although I am very pale, I tend to tan well, or at least did so as a child/teen.

I love pale skin, in the same way that I love dark/black skin: skin left as nature intended always seems to exude a certain glow, which really stands out, to me. The variety of tones and colours across the planet is what makes it so exciting, so interesting. Attempts to drastically alter skin tone always creeps me out a bit, although I am aware that we have been messing around with this concept for centuries. That said, homogeneity terrifies me, that urge for us all to look the same.

I'm a little more daring these days, in that I might venture outdoors in shorts with my pale skin, without worrying too much about standing out like a phantom. I guess the pressure is much worse in the US? Here in the north of England you are likely only going to have a deep tan if you have travelled a great deal or if (like once in every 500 yrs) we experience that legendary indian summer;)

I'm thinking now of another period in history when tan signified lower class, peasant work, folks who had to graft hard for a living - as opposed to the lily white aristocrats....it is interesting to look at how our responses to such things change throughout time.
