this thread is wonderful. i haven't read all of it yet so i hope this isn't a repost. but this blog-

http://bibliodyssey.blogspot.com/

is an incredible source of scanned children's books, fairytales, drawings of fantastical creatures. it is really a magical blog. it gets updated every day i think. along the right hand side are all the books you can look at.

You're welcome DV* ^_^

Btw,sorry I forgot to let you know sooner...I adore TCoW!! The entire thing was beatiful. The storyboard is fantastic and I love the visuals  Somehow I keep imagining that dark, toadstool filled forest...
I'm glad you liked it ^_^

I didn't get to see the storyboard, because when I saw TCoW it was on tv
Now I really want to order the dvd!

Anyway, here's a Hussein Chalayan dress inspired by Rapunzel
I like the fact that it's not a literal interpretation.

groningermuseum.nl

"I would love to come away with you," said Rapunzel to the king's son, "but I don't know how to get down from here." Of course she couldn't climb down her own hair (it was the wicked witch who came up with the idea of cutting it off). The plan with the silk ladder failed famously, and Rapunzel was banished to the wastelands and the Prince thrown from the tower into the roses. Everything eventually ended happily but only after the couple had suffered substantially. The story prompted fashion designer Hussein Chalayan to think up an alternative flight plan, and he designed for Rapunzel a dress that could be rigged to helium balloons, allowing her to float to freedom.
