Fairy-tales

Thisis now my favourate thread. Im a textiles student and for my next project i chose to base it on fairytales and Little Red Riding hood specifically. I came ontfs looking for designer links and found this thread. I didnt realise how many desighners have used this idea for their collections.

ooh i love fairy-tales =) This reminds me of a shoe spread in marie claire this summer, they had like gingerbread shoes, for hansel and gretel, and cinderella shoes, they were so adorable. I'll try to find some pics later.

I only feel bad because I don't believe I've yet found just the right words, to express correctly just how much I love... this thread...

But I'd gladly keep trying

Oh,thank heavens you all gave this thread a bump! I haven't had alot of time to search for new stuff to add so I was a bit disappointed I couldn't give it a resurgence.

Anyway, love the images Jennifer and Anna

I love this thread so much too. I just saw the play into the woods, which inspired me a lot...all those fairy tales rolled into one!

also, this whole theme just seems so appropriate in light of the release of narnia. it truly is the epitome of the fairy tale, in my opinion. I remember the old book illustrations and what a huge impact they made on me as a child. as far as the movie is concerned, tilda swinton's jadis costumes were absolutely stunning and inspiring. they actually reminded me a lot of alexander mcqueen's a/w 00 (or was it 99?) collection...the one on ice. anyway, for your inspiration. ^_^

lucy and susan's mediaeval-style costumes from the battle scene were also really pretty...

^ exactly what I thought! i wondered if he designed it for the show.

hence I noted it in my original post ;) no, mcqueen didn't design tilda swinton's costumes...though I strongly suspect that isis mussenden was more than a little influenced by this collection. the resemblences are uncanny...in fact bordering on identical. :innocent:
