This fall obviously, chunky heels are a huge trend.

so are platforms it seems.

What does everyone think?? will we be returning to the nineties chunk shoe?

I keep seeing these chunky heels, and I just don't think they're attractive at all. they do nothing to make thefoot look good- and I think they look dowright frumpy.

What do YOU think of the trend?

I don't see anything wrong with any of those, but of course there is the rest of the outfit to consider.

The Kors styles are definitely business/office oriented.

The rest are more flexible for places other than the office.

At first I absolutely hated the look of these chunky heels, but it really grew on me. There are definitely some ugly ones out there, but I like a lot of them. I like them as a higher heel, preferably with a bit of curve in the heel, not just straight up and down, and not TOO chunky (like the heels of the second YSL in post #3) . And they're probably more comfortable than a stiletto, which will be a relief after wearing the stiletto for ages. Of course I don't want the stiletto to go away completely, forever, that would be horrible. But I'm welcoming these with open arms.... The funny thing is I can see looking at these heels in a few years and thinking they look so, so dated.

I only like a few chunky heels:

Hmm.. that's about it.. :P

I like chunky heels, but some can just look . I loved the chunky-heeled shoes Chloe did for fall 05

I'm glad the chunky heel is back - or at least my feet are glad. I still prefer stilettos for going out in the evenings though.

They look so uncomfortable for my poor feet. I only like the Kors and maybe the Veneta ones.

I like it :D Not completely abandoning a narrower heel by any means, but I like the option. Many of the shoes on this page are gorgeous  Except for the Missoni, I love all the runway shots!

IMO, this is a different chunky heel than what was popular in the nineties. The nineties chunky heel was really WIDE! These heels don't seem to take up as much real estate.

Im into narrow verical heels by nature, but the occassional thick heel can be quite fabulous....Pierre Hardy is an expert at them..take a look at these from from a couple of seasons ago...sublime.

I have a pair of Enzos that I got about 4 years ago that are a close match to the Michael Kors black round toe pumps shown in Shoesexy's post. Guess I'll dig them out and give them a few more wearings this fall.
