Fall Winter 06-07 fabrics, colours, trends

I am not so sure about chartreuse or burnt oranges in terms of colour, they are too often used in blatantly vintage-referenced clothes. Also with regards to "that small vintage jacket", it´s been around for too long now, I remember Miu Miu introducing it several winter collections back and it´s basically the same shape ever since, with small patched pockets and in tweed. I still favour something that might be a little cropped, but more in the idea of menswear borrowing.

I still believe that purple is a very flattering, regal colour in most of it´s shades, it´s one of the few colours that everybody can wear. Are there any other shades of colour, such as bottle/emerald green, midnight blue or greys?

i finally never went to the presentation blackrose,
the styles i saw already online had depressed me as non inspiring..

where i work we will use lots of b&w and raised surfaces
i absolutely agree with trico's comment on cropped (which i adore) and on burned orange, hate it myself

blues will go on for sure, grey(s) , reds and 'fake whies' should be also strong if i trust my own feeling, but i cant see too many purples much more for my market

Anything cropped in terms of jackets is sure to stay for a while, if I can trust my senses. It´s flattering for a lot of people, even if you are a little curvy built, you can wear a tunique top underneath and it´ll work. These kind of jackets also have an accessory-character, so you can easily put them on top of a dress or where ever else you´d need a little extra cover up, much in the sense of a cardigan, but more "built".

The one thing that I was actually wondering was, who is buying all those forecasts, is it just the big houses, from the high-street to the Guccis and Pradas or even smaller designers? I sometimes find it very surprising that they always seem to come up with similar ideas, from established designers to newcomers. Maybe you´ll know a bit more, Lena?

ahhh... didn´t you also post the forecasts for F/W 2006? I´d gladly appreciate it if you posted the new ones as well, I enjoyed having a look through...

right trico, everyone -whos serious about their trendscouting- buys them, from the tiniest 'mass production' or fabric/trimming company to accessories, bags shoes lines..
superbrands or major players (including design and makeup/beauty companies) usually ask for 'exclusive' consultation from the same forecasting agencies which provide trend predictions to mass market.
most companies work with at least two to three trendoffices so they can cross check trend directions..
