Has anyone read Fashion Babylon by Imogen Edwards-Jones & Anonymous?

I've just started and it's quite interesting. "Anonymous" is a collection of high-profile insiders from the fashion industry. The book is about a fictional British designer but all of the anecdotes and stories are supposedly all true.

Anyhow, I've already learned a lot about mark-ups and distribution.

Oddly, I picked mine up at HMV! (Oxford Street in London location.)

I have seen it around at bookstores. Amazon maybe?

I highly recommend it for anyone interested in the business side of fashion.

I just sold my copy on Amazon (because I have read it all) - sorry guys, didn't realise people were after it on here! Although you can buy it on: www.play.com for £8.99 with free P&P.

I thought the book was very interesting and funny, although I have heard the same story over and over on how designers get vintage clothing, stick there label in it and send it down the catwalk.

Its a fantastic book, when I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. So continue hunting the book down because you won't regret it.

Also Fashion Babylong is part of a seris from my understanding, well kind of, there is Airline Babylon (a book about the airline industry) and Hotel Babylon

In the UK, there was even a TV series based on Hotel Babylon.

I just re-read this book and I highly recommend it. I think it's odd that it's so difficult to find since her other books were such big sellers. I don't think it's available is the states, but it should be easy to find on amazon?

Hotel Babylon and Airline Babylon are both really good, haven't read this yet though.

The release date in the US was pushed back for some reason. Amazon says it will be released on December 19.

What did you all think about the book? I expected more from it and was really excited when I got it. However, I found it really stereotypical. There was not much new information and most anecdotes were like "there was this model ..." - well not really believable.

I have been trying to find this book ever since I read an excerpt in the NY Post a few weeks ago. So far it seems that there won't be a US release until mid January. Amazon is taking pre-orders now. Despite some of the negative reviews here I am still interested in reading it.

It's unbelievable. My mom ordered it for me for Christmas and then they changed the release date again. So now I will be getting a Christmas present in February.
