The new book:
"Fashion Babylon" - Imogen Edwards-Jones & Anonymous
FROM HIGH FASHION TO HIGH STREET
Looking up the skirts of the world's most glamorous industry
Everybody must read this book if you are interested in making it big in the fashion industry!
It gives you loads of secrets, gossip and look-ins on the 'world's most glamorous industry'.
It is set in 6 months of a fictionate designer's life starting with the morning after one of her shows (I personally found the first chapter or so a bit surprising (maybe I wasn't expecting it) but it's worth reading on!) and ends after another of her shows.
Written in first person, a lot is revealed (!) about the fashion industry and there are many surprises! It tells you a lot about how collections are put together, who's who in the fashion industry (e.g. who are the 'big dogs'?), what goes on at the after-parties, tons of things you need to know about the industry and much more!!
I read this book in two days, it was so gripping! Being only fifteen, maybe I was surprised and didn't expect it, but the first few chapters seemed to me very 'deep' to me.. I said to my sister - 'hardcore'. She was confused but you have to read it to know what I mean! As the book goes on, it seems to calm down (well I thought so) but maybe because I realised what the fashion industry really was like after the beginning.
I think you have to read this book, like I had to, wanting to be a fashion designer. After reading it, post your views here as I want to know everyone elses! I won't post mine now as you have to read the book first to realise what I mean!
Now, go out and buy it!
