Skinny jeans and cords. Sure I had to make them, due to my big leg muscles and narrow hipbones (commercially-produced pants that I could get up my legs were way baggy in the butt and waist).

Back a few years ago, it was the super baggy pants. Hell, I still wear them, trends be damned.

Things I already have and wear that I never thought would get trendy:

Peasant blouses (I had a couple of my mom's from back in the 1970s when she was my age)

Tweed--I have loads of secondhand officewear from the 1950s-1980s in tweeds, corduroy, and velveteen, and all that Miss Jane Hathaway stuff is all the sudden the trend. What I call funky old lady clothes the magazines and pundits are calling "Ladylike Chic."

Old-Man hats--flat cloth caps like old Yorkshire farmer men and New York cabbies wear, the trilbies, homburgs, etcetera. I've been gender-bending the headwear since highschool, with my old bowler hat, and now Prada is marketing old-man tweed hats? Weird. I'll stick with my secondhand Stetsons, however.

Two of the four jackets I bought this past Friday were from Sears Junior Boutique, one says "Larry Levine for Petites, New York" and the other is a tailor-made with a real silk-crepe lining. $4 each. I wish the tailor made had come with its original skirt. It's hella cute.

I love houndshooth...

especially the way you will wear it...reminds of Versace this fall

Seven jeans. I bought a pair, because I got tempted by the low price ($50). I liked them when they first came out, but the trend kind of killed it for me. Anyway, I cut off the back pockets with a razor so I don't have those annoying waves on my a$$.

boucle jackets...I love the chanel ones but swore I would never wear one unless it was a chanel. but I found one at a thrift store from some random label and loved the way it suited me so well, so now I like them.

I bought a pair of Juicy pants, they were on sale and I got sucked in by the price..they're really comfy too.

i wasn't talking about the Chanel tweed or the tweed Ralph Lauren did this season. Those are classic. I'm talking about the trendy tweed jackets i would look silly in in about 5 years. Sorta like what Versace or Marni did.
