Fatima update from the Boston Globe

Onetime "America’s Next Top Model" finalist Fatima Siad apparently has a guilty pleasure: "Smelling old books."’ In a Q&A accompanying her gorgeous six-page fall photo spread in Marie Claire’s July issue (right), the Hyde Park-bred Siad also admits that her bad habit is "not keeping in touch with people.’" (Country crooner Taylor Swift is on the cover of the issue.) Siad, who was born in Somalia, has modeled BCBG, DKNY, and Avon, and came in third in Tyra Banks’s reality TV competition in 2008 after a friend made her go to the casting call. "It’s been a roller coaster month," Siad, 24, told us by phone yesterday, on her way to visit her mom in Boston. In addition to the Marie Claire spread, shot by James Macari, Siad just wrapped up a shoot in Los Angeles for Vogue.

American Vogue would be FANTASTIC but I doubt it. ANTM girls have a history with Vogue Italia. I doubt Anna Wintour would have an ANTM girl in vogue. Just because it was shot in LA doesn't mean its for US vogue. Recently Miranda Kerr shot for Spanish Vogue in L.A (milk studios). Either vogue she appears in it is going to look AMAZING

Well, you can never underestimate the power Andre Leon Talley has. Still, I'm not surprised she shot Vogue. This girl has one of the most unique and strikingly beautiful faces in the industry. With or without the ANTM stamp.

Im so happy for Fatima she is definitely one to watch . I can't wait to see the ed for what ever vogue she shot for. I wonder if she will be doing shows in September Does she have an international agency?. I would like to see her move on from NY models to a better agency, one which can get her heaps of HF work (like IMG, Women, Next)

Fatima has/had agencies in Munich, Milan, and Athens. I am feeling lazy now but I will list her agencies later on today.

Yes, I know that being shot in L.A. does not mean it's American Vogue. I can still hope, though. Only a few ANTM alumni have made it into any Vogue so I am happy for her regardless.

I think I saw Fatima in the latest issue of Essence magazine; it's the one with Naomi, Iman, and Liya on the cover. It's only one photo. I will try to scan and post it this weekend.

She's doing quite well. I do think her modelling is indeed mediocre, but she's so freaking gorgeous it's always nice to see her in new work.
