Fausto Puglisi S/S 2014 Milan

Trying too hard and failing even harder.

Fug-Parade. I've tried to get behind this guy, but I just can't. I hate the embellishments, I hate the construction of the garments, I strongly dislike everything.

For the record, 3 belts does not make a top.

I like it I thought it was alright as a whole. Those big short skirts are cute.

I can't help but feel angry that designing exactly the same dress with exactly the same embellishments and having Anna Dello Russo look horrific in them makes him worthy of, not only being the creative director of Emanuel Ungaro, but also having his own show and slot at Milan fashion week.
And to show.. this.

:lol::lol::lol:

To be fair, I do think he has some good ideas. The belts on the skirts - it's got that whole fashionable badass biker chick vibe. But this is a case study for tasteful editing - this needed an eye for making things just right; it's too ambitious, too many ideas that were otherwise good on their own were jumbled together when they shouldn't have.

Nice to see him produce a an actual runway show BUT.. this wasn't all that great, I do like the palm tree prints but I think I was actually expecting a little more than this.

I am honestly quite surprised that I'm the only person in here who actually really liked this presentation. I find most of the clothes to be extremely wearable. The embellishments are catchy and fun. In general, I found the collection to be fresh and sexy and vibrant; a modern take on that classic American "West Side Story" style.

Wow... tacky me-- the three-belt top is the only piece I dig...

It seems he has stopped ripping off from old Gianni Versace. And now he mixes Carolina Herrera with Axl Rose (although it looks more a mixture between Herrera, and this winter Saint Laurent´s rejected leather pieces).

just praying we don't see ADR in public in the belt-bra!
I feel there were three looks in this entire collection...

Well I for one found his collection to be more interesting than Jill Sander's actually. Some nice color combo's, kinda nice shapes. Thats more that can be said from Jill's efforts this season.

I like some of his designs... they look really young and fresh on 20-somethings

Don't worry, you're not the only one. There are definitely some ideas that don't work, but overall I liked it. I'm surprised by all the hate... I've seen collections far uglier than this.
