You know what is so wierd, I was going to make pretty much the same topic yesterday but I decided not to because I didnt think it would be very popular.

Dior is by far my favorite when it comes to Couture, the more pulled togther pieces are the best.

J'adoredior, the main reason why I think that way is that because in a lot of Haute Couture shows lately, most of the stuff is very unoriginal and could pass as RTW. Haute Couture is not what it used to be, unfortunately. Of course, there are still a few great outfits out there, but they're getting rarer and rarer.

I think Haute couture is going really downhill, generally speaking.

I totally agree. But Lacroix outdid himself for the SS 05 collection. Those clothes were truely magnificent.

i agree with you this time because i too do not get as excited as maebe did 5 years ago when everything was still new for me and couture was still relativelly important for the fashion world with all the important creators, nowadays due to all the rumors and constant retirements from influencial couturiers, season to season couture week seems to spark a bit less , that pluss the fact that couture is also a kind of research lab that will evolve into rtw and that rtw more than ever is about selling (dior and mcqueen are huge examples of it) and that due to the fact that only around 250 women can afford couture (wich probably forces couturiers to keep them happier than ever) and also adding that they all die to dress a celebrity for an important ocacion, creativity unfortunately seems to be not as relevant as before... so i agree that couture isn´t what it used to be but hopefully will improve , i read in an article that this fall upcoming couture week will last the usual four days (not 3 as this past summer 05 did) and that the new givenchy designer will release a collection... so we hav e to wait and see...
