Oh so many...but I think Tamara de Lempicka is my favorite right now :flower:

I just recently read that Jack Nicholson has like the largest collection of her work.

Most of these names I don't recognize at all, but I guess we're not making a distinction between past and present or between painters and other artists.

I really like Edward Hopper. I wouldn’t say he’s the best painter technically but his paintings always have a lot of atmosphere
Nighthawkes
Never heard of the artist, but I swear that's the image that Turner Classic Movies (TCM) uses for some of it's promos.

Anyone know of Michael Lin?
The lobby scene is a painting?

So, if we're including artists of recent times, I would have to include Vargas as well as:

Gil Elvgren, Michael Mobius, Jennifer Janesko, Olivia DiBerardinis

love how it's rich & pure at once 'for me'

Normally I prefer very traditional styles of painting but despite this I have always loved Jeffrey Smart

Roy Lichtenstein, In the Car
Richard Estres, Gordon's Gin

^ My favourite Magritte as well!!!
I'm reading a book on this painting right now, by Foucault:
Michel Foucault. This is Not a Pipe. Transl. James Harkness. Berkeley: U of California P, 1973.

I actually have this as my desktop background on my computer :D
My bf thinks I'm the biggest nerd ever for this!!
I keep telling him (partly as a joke) that it's "the Buddah of Modern Art" (it does look a bit like the typical Buddah posture don't you think?) but still; this look is all I get -->!
