Feathers

I don't really like feathers either. they look kinda stupid

...and i think thats why we saw so much of it on the fall runway

neither is a skinned animal! i much prefer feathers to fur... i think a birds soaring above the skies is very "glamorous" somehow. and they have some of the most beautiful colors.. now, pigeons and crows i could do without..:censored:

I like what Balenciaga did but I don't like feathers at all.

I particularly dislike feather earrings. :|

i think feathers have been around the catwalks for a while (Cavalli always seeem to be very fond of them)- but now it's just an explosion of feathers...
anyway, i think they can look either tacky, too boudoir or saloon girl, either punk, extravagant-or at least that's what i like to think when i wear my feather earings:blush:

IMO feathers are good in moderation, too much and you'll end up looking like some burlesque show-girl.

I like these looks:

This trend is so dramatic - definitely for the night only.
And it is really easy to go over board and end up looking like Big bird :ninja:

I am loving the pieces from Balenciaga and Costume National.

Yes, definitely for evening; feathers are too fragile for daytime wear. And feathers are going to be too over-the-top for most evening occasions as well.

It seems that feathers are still trendy.... has anyone found a way to incorporate them into their own wardrobes? I don't think I have anything feathered that I can think of.... :ermm:

Anyway, seems feathered things are featured on style.com's must-have items... here are some of them

Cathy Waterman earrings,
Mara Hoffman sandals,
Moo Roo flapper clutch,
Matthew Williamson tiered chiffon print dress,
Bridget leather sandal,
Mara Hoffman silk jersey print dress from shopbop.com

^^ to me those looks seem like fun and wearable ways to do feathers... I especially like the Mara Hoffman dress and sandals

love the feathers! i hope we continue to see them on the runway and in the real world.

i love the ann demeulemeester necklace with the single feather, but any more than that just looks trashy to me.

McQueen FW 06 had a bird theme in general with the headdresses and everything. Here's a piece with a feathered bottom.

Personally I think that feathers can look cute if the person wearing it can pull it off. That said, I think it looks best done minimally, or else it just looks crazy and over the top, which is not always so great.
