Fendi F/W 07.08 Great Wall of China

This is one of the most beautiful locations ever, I loved this! I just saw a small clip of the show on E! and it looked amazing!!! :woot:

the title should be changed no?
cool venue- i dont get it- was there no fendi show in milan ?

It looked amazing :D It was very adventurous of Karl to pick that location. I'm sure there are many people who are angry about it, I personally love it. I think it was a great background to the show and actually complemented the clothes (which I loved but were a bit Chanel-ly)! :D Kudos to Karl though ( and all the people who contributed to the show):crush::wub:

^^I believe this is the Fall collection so the title is correct, and there was a show this season, this is to promote Fendi in the Asian market.

It doesn't look like the fall collection at all. Fall was fringe, greys, browns, nubby textures, ankle boots. The shoes and several dresses are definitely S/S 08.

The clothes are okay, they seem more epic because of the venue. The shots where you see the wall winding uphill and a lone model exiting the small black tunnel are beyond stunning. Breathtaking almost.

I want some HQ wide shots of this! This is so desktop material.

But I'm not sure if it is cooler than the bubble LV did for F/W 06 in Japan. That set/temporary UFO structure must've been expensive...

Why is it that Fendi collections look so much like Chanel Collections. I guess Karl has no identity. Chanel has become him. What will happen when that Diva disappears?:woot:

wow that must have been so hard to set up! The location's amazing, but Fendi must have gone through hell to get permission to use the Great Wall for a runway show.

Truly amazing...I've been waiting for this! Thanks for all those pics! But the collection look like Spring 2008, not Fall 2007

^Yeh i was just going by what Getty said because I wasn't sure... mods can change the title if they want :flower:

BEIJING — Talk about taking fashion to new heights. On Friday, Karl Lagerfeld and Fendi held a monumental fashion show — atop the Great Wall of China, no less.

The 500 guests — including Zhang Ziyi, Kate Bosworth, Thandie Newton, Amanda Hearst and Tinsley Mortimer — climbed the steep steps to witness the extravagant display said to have cost upward of $10 million.

“It’s a big sign that China is the place where things are happening today,” said Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

As for the fashion, it was an expanded version of Fendi’s spring collection recently shown in Milan, featuring about two-thirds new styles. The show was followed by an open-air dinner and party at The Village at SanLiTun, a high-tech, new shopping complex in downtown Beijing.
