I think i'm gonna give it a try this weekend (at night); i'm still skeptical about it to wear it over the day

What i tried to mean with 'standard red' is that it's pretty much a red-red; not too many organg-y or pink-y pigments.

I don`t own any red lipsticks. But if I were in the mood for one I would try out the Rouge Pur Opium Red # 131 by YSL. It seems (according to MUA-reviews) to be the perfect Red.

thank you I wished bright reds were easier to apply thought, like vanish on everywhere but you lips
I got some other reds in the meantime: MAC Pro longwear in lasting lust, hoping it was a smearproof version of Russian red (HG <3), but it's a bit orangey, still very bright. Then I discovered Maybelline... they have a shade of red that's more bluish. Then they have a superstay powergloss in a red which is a bit dull. But I got it for free, so will be using it too...

i just found my perfect red lipstick today after searching for years. it is revlons matte lipstick in "in the red". i love it and highly recommend it.

i use lancôme red and sensual java.
i always apply it with a brush since otherwise it ends up looking way too strong.

i'm obsessed with red lipsticks and my two favourite ones are a cherry coloured Ruby & Millie and a bright red MAC. i've not found a good red yet though, like, not too bright, not too light.

I use YSL's Rouge Volupté #16, it's really vibrant red (which I love) and it's super creamy, I love YSL lipsticks. I recently noticed that more red violet/magenta-y shades work well for me too (which I would have never guessed in a million years lol) so I'm going to try some of those shades soon

I still am trying to find the perfect somewhat darker wine type red. I tried one but it's too purple.
