Fish Oil / Omega 3 Oil

If you really want to learn all about GLAs, AHAs, CLAs, EPAs and the difference between them along with the benefits to you health and body (and there are too many to list here), I would suggest picking up a copy of The Fat Flush Plan by Anne Louise Gittleman. She goes over each and every one of these and how they benefit your body. I have to mention that I take 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil every day (Barlean's is the best tasting), I also take a GLA supplement twice daily (which is what Anne Louise recommends) and my skin has become silky smooth and radiant. I can't say enough good things about it. Oh! And it hasn't made me gain an ounce. :p

Is it not ok to take just one a day?

Taking one a day is fine. But there are different types of omegas and they all serve different functions in the body. For instance, CLA is good at helping you lose tummy fat. It also helps to keep the weight off if you have lost weight. :woot:

You know I was really interested in this topic. I read through pages and pages of reviews over on MUA and they seemed to really like it there. One thing I noticed consistantly though was if someone didn't like it, it was for the same reason. It broke them out.

I want to try this stuff but I do not want to break out more than I already do. I need to weigh my options I guess and see if the benefits would outweigh the risks of breaking out.

Have any really acne prone (but controlled with product) skin types tried this and have success?

Have anyone tried "Nature Made"? I've just purchased Omega-3 fish oil supplements and zinc supplements from them. Im going to try it out until I run out of the supplements and see if there is any improvement. Im hoping that the fish oil will help my dry skin and zinc help heal my painful red acne that I have now :( IT would be nice if they help with my hair and nail growth, which would be nice! I will have to see, and will update.

I think I noticed someone saying they use Trader Joe's brand, and am wondering if anyone else has used it to any avail. Their stuff is usually pretty decent so I feel good about using supplements from there, although I haven't yet.

I wish I had read this thread earlier, it led me to some more extensive research (not too extensive, anyway), and Omega 3 seems definitely worth looking into.

^I read that Nordic Omega-3 pills are great, if you go on makeupalley.com there are reviews on fish oil and most of the girls use Nordic and some use Nature made and other products. But Trader Joe's brand should be good too. I've been using this stuff for a month and my skin is so clear! i cant believe it, the pores on my nose is smaller, and I have a fresh glowy look to my skin. I havent noticed a dramatic change to my hair and nails but im good with the results in my skin!

I've used the Trader Joe's brand Omega 3s. They have ones with no taste or after-taste and are under $10. Give them a try!
