wow, wonderful thread mullet!. these pictures are sooooo beautiful ... it really makes me appreciate the detail and craftsmanship that goes into making clothing...
Christian Dior RTW F/W 07/08. I thought his detail work was just spectacular this season! And I agree with everyone else, I wholeheartedly love this thread.
^I wish I knew how they did this one... You can see there's no stitching anywhere. I've bonded two fabrics before with heat, but they weren't very durable at all... I could easily pull the seams apart
^this is pretty interesting. they must have used a laser to cut this... it's not woven.
In this garment, I read in Fabric and Fashion that the plastic pieces on the shirt are actually molded with the fabric itself, so it is one whole not beads on top
oh, brilliant finds, gius!
I was looking for Dries close-ups the other day but didn't manage to find anything that would make justice to him..
interesting observation on the chloé blouse.. I can't imagine all the work involved to make such garments. .. though one does get the logic behind the prices, of course.
I was hoping to make a thread like yours, only with more discussion about construction, techniques, etc. I was wondering where I could put a thread like that here--a lot of my threads just get thrown into DIY
oh gius, I was so confused, I pmed Bette a couple times to redirect me but she said this section was fine as long as we stay within the 'artistic' side of life and not focused on one collection or designer in particular.. and no customer advice either, which would take us to Personal Style or Trendspotting.. I suppose discussion is always welcome.. I, for one, wouldn't have much to say I admit, I often operate like a robot and only melt with flash pictures, truth be told.
having said that and considering you're studing textile design, a one-man chat is always a delight for the rest of us observers..
I did find one or two textile people here, but... Anyway I guess it would be nice to note some things down with the images too, if I ever find some info
