I don't see the Eva Longoria resemblance.

I actually don't either (aside from the dark hair and dusky skin). Their actual faces don't look alike but they are "descriptively similar." If you described both, you would say petite, honey/caramel complexioned, delicate features, beautiful, long, dark hair. But that could fit so many women of color:lol:

Here are some stills from Slumdog Millionaire. My favorite look for her was when she and Jamaal were first reunited at the house. (she was wearing the white).

Those People pictures are great, and it's of course good that the money will go to the charities. I love the one of Freida jumping on the bed-it's just so fun.

I heard she may get $3 million for the Woody Allen movie. If she does, she will be the highest paid actress in Bollywood (I know she's not technically from Bollywood). I will paste the article here

Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto is likely to become the highest paid Indian actress in the world.

Soon after the eight Oscar winning performance in Los Angeles, a spokesperson announced she had signed up for Woody Allen’s next film.
She will join A-list Hollywood stars such as Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins for the yet untitled project, which will be filmed in London.

Interest in the actress remains sky-high as she adorned the front cover of Vogue India this month.

Industry sources say that the expected income of $2m to $3m for the film will propel her to the top of the earnings scale among Indian actresses.
She said in an interview: “For someone like me with no godfather in the film industry, it was easier to break into modelling. I did use modelling as a means to get into the film world.”

“I enjoyed modelling. It taught me a lot in terms of being confident and definitely helped me prepare for what was to come next,” she added.
Her co-star Dev Patel isn’t doing so bad either. The media reported last week that he had signed for M. Night Shymalan, of Sixth Sense and The Village fame, for his his next project. Based on a popular martial arts cartoon - The Last Airbender - it will involve a lot of CGI.

“It sounds like a good project. I love martial arts like Bruce Lee and Jet Li and I’d love to try something physical,” Dev told a reporter last week.
M. Night Shyamalan said: “He was already one of the guys I was interested in. Then I saw Slumdog Millionaire, and the kid just grew in my eyes.”
The Last Airbender begins shooting in Greenland in March and is scheduled for release in July 2010. It is the first of a planned trilogy.

~~~~~ Hmm, don't know if this is true, because I'm sure Ash would've gotten at least a couple of million dollars for Pink Panther. Anyone know?
I hope the new Woody Allen film will showcase her talent. I think her role in Slumdog Millionaire was underwritten.
Here's an older picture of her pre-Slumdog
Meet the woman who groomed Freida Pinto
http://movies.ndtv.com/newstory.asp...+Pinto&Id=ENTEN20090086275&keywords=bollywood
Indian actress Freida Pinto is making waves internationally for her walk down the Oscar red carpet, her designer gowns and gracing the covers of popular magazines, thanks to Slumdog Millionaire. But not many know the woman who helped groom her and introduced her to British director Danny Boyle.
Sushma Puri, a grooming instructor and owner of Elite Model Management India in New Delhi and Mumbai, groomed and launched Freida when she began her career in modelling in 2005. Freida's photograph was among those of a few others that Puri had sent to Loveleen Tandon, the casting director of Slumdog Millionaire. And now she just can't stop praising here protege.
"My agency has worked very closely with the casting team of Slumdog Millionaire. We received a call from Loveleen Tandon's office when they were casting for the movie.
"We sent pictures of some of the girls who fit the brief. Freida was immediately put on the short list. She went on to audition for the part. Over the next six months, we were asked to send Freida many times over for various screen tests. Finally, Boyle personally selected her for the role," Puri said.
Born Oct 18, 1984 in Mumbai, Pinto was a professional model before starring in Slumdog Millionaire as Latika. She also hosted an international travel show Full Circle between 2006-2008.
"Freida began her modelling career in mid 2005 with Elite. She had never modelled before she signed up with us. She visited the Elite office in Mumbai with some pictures shot by her friends. We realised that she was good and offered her a modelling contract. We have also featured her on the Elite calendar for two years," Puri said.
Freida had an edge over "newcomers" because she was confident and articulate. She was naturally comfortable in front of the camera, said Puri.
Six years ago, Puri decided to set up Elite India after she realised that the country required grooming schools and more modelling agencies because the profession was becoming a mainstream career option for girls in metros.
"We represent some of the best and biggest names in fashion and commercial modelling," she claimed.
Anushka Sharma, who starred in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shahrukh Khan, former Miss India Neha Kapur, and top models Vipasha Agarwal, Sonalika Sahay and Diana Penty are some of the other faces launched by Puri's Elite agency.
"I don't know how many Indian girls will see that level in Hollywood although I believe this has opened up doors for others. However, Bollywood is within reach. A good example is Anushka Sharma," Puri said.
I don't know about Rai's salary, but I higly doubt Pinto is going to get $2-3 million for a Woody Allen movie. His last few movies have been relatively low-budget (an estimated $4 million for Scoop, $15 million each for Cassandra's Dream and Vicky Cristina Barcelona). It would be very difficult for any actor (be it Cruz or Johansson or McGregor) to take home a multimillion dollar paycheck when the budgets are that tight. When you factor in that the movies have mostly ensemble casts composed of very famous actors, it becomes even more difficult. Hypothetically speaking, if Pinto's getting $2-3 million, then her co-stars Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, and Antonio Banderas are getting paid much more. Presumably, you've already blown through your budget right there if you give all those big names big paychecks!
I know Pinto has the Oscar buzz surrounding her. But, I don't think there's any way her or her team could get her that type of paycheck for a Woody Allen film (especially considering that she's only been in 1 movie and had relatively little screentime). I think the cache of being in a Woody Allen film (regardless of its quality) is the real reward at this very early stage in her career. If she were carrying a big studio comedy (like 27 Dresses or Confessions of a Shopaholic) whose success depended mainly on audiences connecting with her, I'd have an easier time believing the figure.
