French Berets F/W 06.07

really? in munich every huge warehouse has staples of berets in every colour (for about 9 €)...

My Northern California town is not as fashion forward, I suppose..I'm gonna go check those websites..Thanks for posting.

I saw some guy wearing an alexander mc queen style skull scarf around his neck .. but the original style ones before mcqueen coppied the idea ... with black skinny jeans, white fitted tee and braces with knee high boots and a berret .. ive changed my mind berets can look ok on guys .. he actually looked really cool imo

Oh, I love this trend.

I'm currently knitting myself a cream coloured one. It's going to be adorable!

always wanted a beret, but always found an excuse...now i have the perfect excuse to buy one! question is, what colour? i was thinking play it sfae with black...but who wants to play it safe?

Black isn't always safe. And you can mix it with other clothes.

i was just vacationing in paris this week, and believe it or not i couldn't find a cute beret i liked! all of them were really cheap, and stiff, and made out of this awful fleecy/felt material

Looks very cute on the models but I have to say my dad forever ruined this look for me by wearing his black beret constantly out to dinner when I was younger... I can still hear the criticism from my brothers.. :ninja: I loved going out for dinner... but that damn beret..

Yayayayayy I Love This Thread!!! I Love Bererts Hehe My Boyfriend Is French So We Are Going To France This Summer And I Want One So Bad. Do You Know Where I Can Find One? Cheap And Cute And Small. I Have One But Its Huge! Please Let Me Know A Brand Of One That Is Cute And Small Thanks

I used to be obsessed with berets when I was about 10 - 13...I wore them constantly after I saw this photograph of faye dunaway wearing one in bonnie and clyde. how can you not be attracted to the chicness it exudes here? :p

I wore one a few times this past winter...tried to go about it 1930s style, with the highwaisted skirt and mary jane heels. I am not sure if I'll go for this next fall/winter (thinking along the lines of more structured hats), but I do like the idea and I would LOVE to see more people wearing hats - of any type really, but berets are a good start.;)

I agree, people looked so put-together in the old times when almost everyone used to wear a hat.

You guys are so lucky to be able to wear head wear aspecially berets. I've always thought it's one of those pieces that make most people look chic instantly and almost everyone can pull it off .. just angle it correctly. But I would totally look like an *** walking down the streets of a tropical country in one.

p/s: I love all the clothes in post # 7 especialy the last dress!

I've always been a hat person - I found that putting on a hat can really pull together an outfit for some reason. I have SO many berets.

thats because this is not the 'normal' season for shopping berets ;)
Le Printemps always stock some decent qualities for the tourists but 'new collection' wont hit the shops till late July.. patience :flower:

(i'd love a "vintage-y" crochet knit beret for fw0607)

I like berets they look so chic, I'm just not really hat person though.

Same here. I think hats make outfits better and berets are gorgeous, just that I have this weird thing where I feel like.. claustrophobic.. when I wear a hat. Weird, I know. lol :innocent:

This looks like a knit beret on model Caroline W.

The second one, the style is a bit different. I hope it is still a beret--these kinds are the only kind of beret I'm liking...
