It looks like a nylon bag.

I think it was an authentic vintage bag. It was severely beaten and oxidized. However, I love the shape of it...it was adorable!

That's what I was thinking. I remember in Season 9, one time in Central Perk Rachel was sitting in some chair and behind her head as she was talking, someone with a cherry blossom bag walked by. then the shot cut to the couch and the person had sat down with the bag in view. i think there was a contract between Friends and Louis Vuitton. And most likely Ralph Lauren!

totally. a film set like that is almost like a magazine ED.
clothes are loaned, accessories too.. or even given as a gift. its peanuts for LV, but the BEST advertising for years and years

Why would they use fakes on a television show? The cast of friends are making a million$$$ an episode! It's not like they can't afford the real thing! What's up with that?

Friends is practically an institution, its worth about $ 3 billion, i'm pretty damn sure they afford a real Vuitton yes, or of course like you say they could be advertising cause think how many people watch it, and yeah of course Rachel used to work for Ralph Lauren and did she work for Calvin Klien or am i imagining it? If not it was mentioned a lot. The photos didn't work for me so i can't see the bag and i haven't seen the last episode yet (live in the uk).
