I agree ... and I honestly am amazed (having seen both movies) that Sandra Bullock is winning awards for that part. Perhaps if I saw the original (the real-life woman) I'd be more impressed? I find her a total caricature in that movie ...

I think the AMPAs need to stop awarding the Oscar to the American Sweetheart because it's their first dramatic role in a while (or probably ever). This is their chance to prove us wrong. Sandy already got nominated at the expense of Abbie Cornish, Saoirse Ronan or even Emily Blunt. It's definitely not a weak year, it's just because they simply decide to nominate the wrong performances. Carey or Gabourey deserve it. I still need to see Helen Mirren, but no doubt she will be wonderful. Meryl Streep is practically begging for a third Oscar now.

Ask her what she is doing next, and she can't but say, "A nap." But any more college studies will have to wait. "I hope to do more films. I got some offers. I just did a pilot for a Showtime series, The Big C."
She already has connected to moviegoers in a special way thanks to playing Precious. "A lot of people tell me it makes them feel less alone in the world. They says this is their story."

Sidibe has settled on her date – that'll be her mom – but is procrastinating on the dress. "I'm a little scared," she admitted. "I haven't even started looking at color or anything like that. I've got a bunch of sketches through e-mails, and I said that I looked through them, but I lied."
